It is really bizzare how we absolutely trounced Kent at their home floor and Kent with their very short bench and roster was able to beat BSU who beat us by 21. Thats the way of the Mac I suppose. One thing I'll say is the everyone better be ready to play this game and not look back to what we did to them earlier.

The girls were on fire when we beat kent earlier this year. Taylor was shooting 100% from the arc in the M.A.C. until she finally missed one at the end of the game. Lauren couldn't miss, and Murdaugh was looking like she could cut as well as Achter.
Yeah right girl!

What was the score? I couldn't go or listen to it, as I was up at Tam-o watching the BGHS Varsity game. They lost in OT to Perrysburg.... :(
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

76-68. I didn't get to watch it, but Dad was giving me the last half on my phone while I was driving home from work. Sounds like the flashes rallied early in the second to put some pressure on us, but the final 5 minutes we remembered where we were ;-) Sounded like a good game, hopefully someone else can come in and give more detail.

Not the best game I've seen all year. The refs were really terrible. #21 spent the whole night pushing our players around and hitting them from behind on rebounds, while not getting called for it.

Usually the girls games are a lot of fun, but tonight was just kind of lackluster. Good job by the ladies to get the victory with the flashes gunning for them.

I think it was lackluster because Falconboy had the flu and didn't cheer

Seriously, the weeknight games are never as good because our crowds are generally terrible. Good job by the ladies to fend off a run by Kent in the 2nd half to win, they were making every shot in sight the first 8 minutes of the half. And Niz is right, the refs were HORRENDOUS in the 2nd half. I recall one play where #21 of Kent going over the back on one of our players and our girl got the foul called on her. How the freaking heck does that happen?! :x This conference needs better officials so bad.

This game was like the 3 before it. too many no calls by refs Kent's big women had too much control of the paint-----by elbowing, throwing our women around & camping in the key long enough to cook a 3-course meal on the fire they built. I don't know either how we can be over the back for a foul when we are underneath. Tara Breske should have played the entire game with 2 fouls. None of the stripes can see how athletic she is (Thanks Jane) & don't expect her 2 make the plays she does. She was getting mugged. check 4 dents, need glue!! :? :x
Way to go women. Now gear up to win the family feud with the redhawks. Congrats to Curt, Jennifer, Brandi, Kevin, Monique and Sheri. It takes them all. Go 4 the next one on Sat. :D
Thanks to the people who filled seats & cheered also yelling @ refs saw lots of that :)

The "younger" white official made about 95 % of the bad calls, and there were MANY! Among his many, was an OBVIOUS out of bounds call at the north end line that he completely missed and Coach Miller got rather excited and told him to ask for help! Of course he didn't! I thought the other two guys were decent, but had a tough time covering for their partner.

For the first half, I thought the refs weren't all that bad, Yes, they missed some calls, but for the most part, let the girls play. But the second half was a completely different story. I thought No. 40 for Kent should have been out of the game by the 10 minute mark. She was throwing elbows and pushing and shoving like crazy.

On another note, congratulations to Curt Miller and the entire coaching staff for tying Fran Voll's career victory mark.

I was able to listen to the game on 640 AM WHLO in Akron...that is the KSU sports station. Gutsy win and I give Kent credit for playing tough the whole game.

I have a BiG problem with the Kent announcers whether it's Bill Needledick for men's hoops or Tom Linder for the women. They are such homers it isn't funny. Last night Tom Linder made the same comment about being stuck in the top row of AA...all the way up there in the rafters over and over again. Tom, it isn't that far up! Get a little exercise! Besides, how far up can it be in our little HS gym? :-D

Anyway, when BG was called for a foul, he said it was a good call every time. When Kent was called for a foul, every time he said it was questionable but he couldn't be sure since he was "Way up in the rafters". Funny how the BG fouls were crystal clear to him but the Kent ones he couldn't be sure. What a choch. Personally, I think he is tired of losing to BG...8 in a row, boy!

Congrats to Coach Miller and staff on win #144!!! And, ANOTHER 20+ WIN SEASON!!!!!

I was going to make the trip up on 3/1 but just found out Josh may have a choir and band concert that day. IF he does, I'll have to catch the team at the Q...

GO FALCONS!!! RIP THE REDHAWKS!!!

What a whiny little jerk. Like you said Freak, it's not exactly the Superdome. I'd put him on the roof the next time.

The cover of Kent's media guide says "Tradition Never Graduates." Well, no, but apparently a lot of good players do or else they wouldn't be 7-17. Meanwhile, BG loses the greatest senior class in MAC history and is in the mix for another championship. Poor Bob Lindsay is going down the same path that Ehlen did and you know how it ended for him.
