"Played defense with Rob Blake"....what in practice......I don't ever remember him even dressing for a game. I was at BG in 88 and went to many of the hockey parties. There wasn't anything more "immoral" going on there than at any other of the 100's of BG parties I went to. Safe to say he never went to one of the Rugby parties I guess ;-)

Why do the disparaging remarks about BG come up with the above link, but if you go to another section, such as "Home", then back to "Hockey", the remarks aren't there?

Derek Hopko.

I VAGUELY remember him. He played quite a few games when he was a freshman, but then he sort of fell of the face of the planet. He was a bit small to be a d-man in a York team if memory serves.

I don't know of any hazing which occurred with any of the sports teams outside of the usual peer pressure drinking so common with ANY student of college.

He was in reality, one of those players who was good, honestly. He just was not able to make the transition to a top D1 program...and seemingly now as we see all to often points his crooked finger of blame.
the link deal is weird.

I would say the website about the immoral behavior is the link he gives to his wife. The other one is for everyone else. :)

Listen it says on the url that he is from Winnipeg, however on hockeydb it says Winnipeg Beach. Therefore we do not claim Derek the beach is an hour from the Peg. He did play with some quality players in Saskatchewan. ND academy he played with Cujo, Brind-Amour,our boy Llew. The greatest player from ND... My hero Wendel Clark.[/list]
Dave Ellett is a hero. A Bowling Green Falcon and a Former Jet and Maple Leaf. What more can a Winnipegger ask for.
