Indian would be cool too. I know they're not the cream of the crop in the BCS rankings, but anytime a big ten school comes to the Doyt its exciting. Didn't much care for his answer to the second question. I don't a single thing they were pushing with 'the card' caught. The only marginally good idea was playing the second half of ay-zig as a short after first downs.
Yeah right girl!

Well, as he said, feedback is welcome, so make your thoughts known to him and the people responsible for marketing. To a certain extent I would agree that a couple of the things on "The Card" bordered on the absurd, but there were a couple of things that worked. Namely, the "B-G-S-U" going around the stadium after touchdowns caught on, and I thought it was kind of neat to see. The whole Sweet Caroline thing, while creative in the way that it was designed, didn't seem like it was executed as effectively as it could be. I would much rather see them use "Hey Baby," or whatever that song is called, in it's stead. It has a lot more tradition at BG, and people are used to hearing the band play it. Make it only a fourth quarter thing for football, and I think they've got a winner on their hands. The Niz wrote:Indian would be cool too. Schedule released tomorrow? Jeez, happy birthday, Freak!
I like how things are starting to take shape, esp. the part where the '09 OOC games seem pretty firm (at least in GC's mind) before the '08 is even released.

This is more exciting news about our future football schedules. I really like the direction we are going in and we're putting together a nice mix of locations and teams to play.BGFalconfromCincy wrote:IU and Maryland coming to BG in the future for football and a note saying the football schedule will be released tomorrow highlight this week's Ask the AD

"As outlined before, our football scheduling philosophy is centered on playing fewer guarantee games and more home-and-home contracts with other non-BCS teams and a mix of BCS games where they are willing to play at The Doyt."
This is what I like....forget playing the Top 10-15 teams. Let's sked the other non BCS and BCS teams willing to leave their home stadiums. Love it.

I like that idea, B.O. Always enjoy hearing that song and it's one of my favorites on the "Pride" CD.Bleeding Orange wrote:I would much rather see them use "Hey Baby," or whatever that song is called, in it's stead. I defiantely agree with that. As a member of the band, it really irks me that the actual song that they play and the version we have are in two different keys, plus I always thought of it as a song played only at the hockey games. It really bothered me when this past fall they decided to do it at Football games too and eventually at basketball games. I believe that you are referring to "Hey Baby." As a Maggot, I always love that song. That used to be played at the end of the 3rd quarter I thought until this past fall when they made us play Sweet Caroline, and that's yet another reason why I hate Sweet Caroline.Bleeding Orange wrote:The whole Sweet Caroline thing, while creative in the way that it was designed, didn't seem like it was executed as effectively as it could be. As far as the future OOC games and who's coming to Doyt L. Perry Stadium, in all honesty, I'll only believe it when it's on the schedule and they do in fact play the game. From the way it sounds though, Greg Christopher hopefully won't be bending over for the MAC offices anymore, which is definately a plus.

Anything would be better than that Neil Diamond crap. To me that song has always been the lowest common denominator that mediocre cover bands play. They know that no matter how poorly it's played the drunkards in the bar will dance around and sing the "so good, so good" crap.Falconfreak90 wrote:And crank "Modern Day Cowboy" by Tesla.hammb wrote:Just get rid of that god forsaken Sweet Caroline.
For whatever reason Johnny B Goode has always been my favorite song the band plays.
