Upcoming Fund Raiser!!!

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

Former Falcon ('88-'93), Ty Eigner's son, Peter, was diagnosed with cancer in August of 2006. The Falcon Hockey program and many former players are in the process of planning a fund raiser for the March 1st hockey game against Michigan State. Events will include a silent auction with many items donated by former Falcons. Chuck-A-Puck proceeds will also go towards this event. Many details are still in the process of being worked out. It should be mentioned at the games this weekend and on the radio broadcast as well! Your help in this event will be greatly appreciated!! I will post more details as they become available!! In the mean time, please visit Peter's website to get more information about him and what he has gone through so far: http://www.petereigner.com/
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

The Chuck-A-Pucks I buy next week will have "Peter Eigner Benefit Fund" next to their numbers on the register.

UPDATE: We have some really fantastic items coming in for the Silent Auction. All items with full descriptions should be posted within a few days. Currently we are planning to have the items at both Basketball games up by the Falcon Club tent on the second level. There will be a starting bid amount and a "Buy It Now" price, as we did for the MS/Sigalet Fund Raisers. Keep watching the offical website for the info!

Thanks Falcon Fanatic for spearheading this effort. All guys are family & we need to help as best we can. I'll be working Chuck-a-puck so won't get a chance to bid on items. Will we be allowed to buy or bid @ the Center Court Club during MBB or WBB? 50/50 will keep me busy but I want a chance to see what's up for bid. Thanksagain and keeping Peter in our prayers.

Back around the time that Ty was playing,
a player was seriously injured in an auto accident when returning to school from Minnesota.
Was that Ty Eigner that was in that auto accident?

Hit hard
Have fun

No that was Jeff Elvin that was in the car accident on his way back to school and I think it was the mid to late 90's, so he wouldn't have played with Ty...

Go Falcons!!

Good memory! I looked it up, Jeff played in 1993-94 only. Ty was done at the end of the 92-93 season, so they just missed each other.

GO FALCONS!!!
SWEEEEEEEEEEEP THE EGG SUCKERS!!!

Didn't he get the "Terry Flanagan" award at the 94-95 team banquet? I thought he was on the roster for another season or two, just never made it into a game.

Yes I believe he did! I tried to find that, but I think the Terry Flanagan award is now a CCHA award, and only Doug Schueller was listed for getting it in 2001-02 (I was looking in the 2002-03 media guide, btw). And I thought he was here longer too. I know the year of the accident he wasn't here, as he was in recovery for a long time. Wonder what ever happened to him? Hope he's doing well.
