We need to beat Kent State. Wow, 6 in a row on our home floor.
We'll be there.
Thought I was seeing things last nite on Jeopardy....I'm a "freak" for that show...Bill Needle was one of the contestants...wound up with 0 dollars as a result of missing "final" Jeopardy..... Sign of things to come, hopefully? 8)

I noticed one of their assistant coaches is Eric Haut, a former Kent player of the recent past. Wasn't he accused of urinating on our bleachers a few years back?
I don't think it was Haut but Jakeman or Jakeway? Isn't that his name? Haut was a great shooter but he didn't act like an ass.
Den,
We watch Jeopardy almost every night! I don't understand why "Poets" is always a category but not "College Football". Which is more important???
Bill Needle...at least he's better than Steve French on the Zips network but not by much.

Our victories on the road against Kent were likely the result of them taking us lightly and getting bit in the ass for it.JoeFalcon wrote:For some odd reason we seem to play better at Kent having won at their place in 2005, 2006 and losing by 1 on 2007.

I have easily been a bigger fan of this team that you 24, I cannot make this event because of a family function back home that I have to be home for so for you to make a "f**k em comment on people who cant make this game is a little immature to say the least. Also, I wouldn't go so far as calling you a dihard fan of BGSU Men's hoops. It was hard pressed for me to get you to go to a game before this year.bgsufalcon24 wrote:I don't think so 33. That man just killed BG hoops for me before I could even get into the program. So I didn't get to many games, especially in 2005-06.
Besides why are you even bringing this up? It's almost the end of 2007-08, and you're trying to get me for stuff that transpired back in the Dakich era. As I recall I did make it to quite a few home games in 2006-07, most of which we got crushed (ie: Ohio, Akron, Western Mich, etc) Let it be.

That is exactly why I cannot consider you a "diehard" for the Men's basketball program. That's all I was saying is that you are claiming to be something you are not. Now, football and women's basketball are different stories, but when it comes to Men's basketball, don't act like you are more of a fan than others because you are not, my friend. You do not have the track record to support that you think you are a die-hard.bgsufalcon24 wrote:Two words. I know EMU was ranked in at least one of the polls when we beat them in 1996. I want to say the Eagles were ranked around #23. I can't remember if Miami was ever ranked when we played them or not. But we really haven't played many other ranked teams at all in the last decade that I can think of. The ones I know that were ranked were ranked very highly, like when we played #1 Michigan State in 2000 (lost 85-69) in Auburn Hills, Michigan and #2 Alabama in 2002 (lost 72-63) in Mobile, Alabama.threestooges wrote:EMU was indeed ranked when BG won on that Daniels layup (Jan/Feb 1996, I think). I also think Miami might have been ranked when we beat them in 1999. Not as close of a game, as I remember. I think those are the last 2 home games against ranked teams. Not sure of any others...
GO BG!!!
Wow. Haven't lost to a ranked opponent at home in almost 30 years!!!BGSU release wrote: GIANT KILLERS AT THE HOUSE THAT ROARS
As mentioned, Kent State enters Anderson Arena ranked in the top 25 ... the Falcons enter Saturday's game having won three consecutive home games vs. nationally-ranked opponents ... BGSU beat fifth-ranked Michigan State (all rankings according to Associated Press) in December of 1990, topped #23 Eastern Michigan on Valentine's Day, 1996; and most recently, defeated #25 Miami in February of 1999 ... BGSU's last home loss to a top-25 opponent came nearly three decades ago, to #16 Marquette on Dec. 6, 1978 ... since the Associated Press begin conducting a poll on Jan. 20, 1949, the Falcons have a record of 21-47 against nationally-ranked foes ... BGSU is 12-9 all-time in home games vs. AP Top-25 opponents, including a 6-5 mark since Anderson Arena opened for the 1960-61 season.
