Any bets that the MAC office tells us not to release our schedule today?

Well, since I haven't seen it yet, I'd say that's a good bet. They aren't done forcing the MAC schools to adjust the schedules and back out of non-conference games. Word I heard is that they think the MAC should play top 25 teams for all of their OOC games for 2008 and 2009

Believe it or not, I've heard that the MAC HAS told the schools to wait until next week before releasing the schedules. Take it for what it's worth ... I heard it second-hand, so it may be a vicious rumor. BUT, it does seem to be the way the conference office operates

The thirteenth member of our lovely conference had as many as 7 OOC games still on their schedule as of a few weeks ago, hence the delays.

Of course you can thank Kent State for last year's debacle, well them and Rick James Chryst.

Does not surprise me at all. Maybe Eastern Michigan screwed up now and we will lose our home game against Minnesota.

If I'm not mistaken, Miami has helped Temple out of one of those games already. I recall reading a couple weeks ago that Miami is going to play down here against UK instead of Temple. Don't see anything official about that on UK's schedule though.

Edit: Bite me. Today as sucked. :-D

Don't know your sources, but I highly doubt that is correct. In my scheduling spreadsheet, I have had them down with 9/6 UCONN, 9/20 @ Penn St, 11/1 @ Navy, and 11/29 @ Army for quite some time now.

FWIW, I do have Akron with 5 OOC games and Ohio with only 3. Everyone else has 4 games posted. This is based on info posted on the MAC boards from official school releases. As we know, one MAC East team has to play an extra OOC game with the unbalanced divisions, so maybe that is Akron this year.

I did just review nationalchamps.net to see how I matched up with them. I know they are not the best source but almost all other schools have released schedules so they should be up to date. My data matched with theirs for the most part except for a couple of games against I-AA that they were missing.

The other difference is one that I don't think is resolved and it is either Ohio or Temple that caused it, but I don't remember exactly. Miami is scheduled to play Western KY on 10/4. NC.net show WKU playing at Kentucky that day. Kentucky still needs another game because Temple or OU (again I don't remember which) dumped out of a game. I think Miami was supposed to be negotiating to play Kentucky, but they want the game to be at Paul Brown Stadium since they appear to be losing their home game with WKU.

FWIW, NC.net also shows Memphis, Mid TN, and Rutgers as needing games besides KY. They also have some MAC teams needing games but I think they aren't up-to-date. For example, they list Temple with 4 OOC (same four opponents as I have but the Army game is on different dates), but also show them needing a game. They have Miami needing a game, which may be correct with the KY-WKU-Miami thing not completely resolved. They have Kent needing a game, but I show they picked one up with Delaware. And I agree that Ohio still needs to add a game. OU has away games at Ohio State, Northwestern, and Wyoming, so I would suspect they will add a D-IAA home game.
