Scorer is Anthony Stacey.

Rebounds, I'm not so sure. Stacey might be up there, and the obvious guess would be Nate Thurmond, but I'd put a wild guess out that there's someone else. (In fact, I'd almost put money on Nate for reb/gm, but total boards might be someone that played longer, since Nate played when freshmen were ineligible.)

Correct with both. Stacey ended his career with 1938 pts, Nate Thurmond ended with 1295 rebounds.

But somewhat surprisingly, Stacey is not in the top 20 in rebounds...yet is the career leader in steals. That strikes me as a little bizarre.

Second leading scorer Howard "Butch" Komives played less years and without the assistance of the 3pt. line.

A little caveat I put out there much like the Jim Brown less games in a season deal. . .

Not to diminish Stace's accomplishments, but he also was aided by playing more than 4 years of eligibility, because of an injury.

Not to say I don't love Stacey and what he did here, just remarking how incredible Komives must've been.

Just curious, and pardon my ignorance, but whatever happened with Stacey post-college? Did he ever play any pro ball in Europe or NBA D-league? I loved watching him play back in the day.

He is still playing in Europe (Spain). I talked to his dad about a month ago at one of BG's games and he said he planned on playing another 2-3 years before he retires. What a great experience and career! Congrats Stace! :D

I agree. Stacey is my all time fave BG player but what Komives did was even more impressive. My dad still raves about him, Nate and Jimmy Darrow to this day.

And Mike, you know that I agree with your dad on these....Jimmy Darrow was still the best pure shooter I ever saw at BG; and again, obviously, no 3 pt line...what was really neat with him is that he could play INSIDE at 5'11 if they tried to box and 1 him...he had a heck of a hook shot with either hand that used to drive other coaches nuts.

The last time we really heard from Anthony Stacey on the boards was back when someone mentioned Stan Heath as an option for a new coach. Before that, he started this thread below about his upcoming season in Spain...of course that was 2005. I believe he's still playing there like factman said.
