FOUR YEARS

Post by Bleeding Orange »

For four years, I have watched the BGSU women's hoops team cut down the nets at Anderson Arena. I remember the first time I watched the nets come down, and I remember what a monumental moment that was. I thought about that today while the women cut down yet another net, and I got the feeling that this had become second-nature to most of our fans. It could be, and probably is just me, but I can't help but stand in awe of what this coaching staff and these players have accomplished since Lindsay Austin hit those two shots to get us to the tourney final in 2004. That was the genesis of what we witnessed today.

I've been trying since the game ended to put into words how amazing and awe inspiring what this program has accomplished actually is. Four conference titles in a row. Back to back. 'Nuff said.

It is not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work - work with us, not over us; stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it. ~Ronald Reagan

This is the hardest working staff & team. After riding the bus to ou, watching the coaches all sitting side saddle in the seat working on game film & scouting reports, I saw with my own eyes what all encompassing their mission is with each other. We sat in on film & scouting, received verbal & written info on ou players. Shoot around showed us what the game plan was---and they did what they practiced & made adjustments. Pre-game talk was positive & a learning reinforcement of what was talked about all wk. The coaches are SUPERIOR TEACHERS. The women are willing learners. That's what it takes to be successful. There is MUCH respect between players & coaches. They care about each other & enjoy all the orange they see in the stands---home & away. :D I too had trouble putting into words what that experience was like for me. They are just THE BEST :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

"Metz, what are we going to do without Kate next year? Who's going to the the PG?" :D

Yeah. I'm happy with the answer to my question. :)
