4-0?

Post by Falconboy »

That is rather disappointing. But this is MSU I guess the reigning CCHA champions. I think this series taught us that its plain and clear that we are still a ways behind the top 4-5 teams in the league by far especially talent wise. Paluch needs to keep recruiting top talent and hopefully we'll get to where we need to be.

Look at the bright side:

Ferris wins, Northern ties, we lose. Ferris gets WMU, Northern gets OSU, and we get LSSU. Should all the home teams win, we go to Miami...the best place of the top 4 to go for us. In losing we find hope to a longer season.

Thank God we didn't draw Western. Playing those goons could have been a disaster. I'll gladly take LSSU, with a possible trip to Oxford. :)

MSU is defending NCAA champs too---yes it's a different player make-up but still most had the experience.
I like the LSSU to Miami trek but first thing first SINK THE LAKERS :D :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

Well this is the last thing we needed. We needed to play a weak Notre Dame team in the second round. Now it looks like the second round is in question because I don't know if we beat Lake.

The boys have worked hard all year to get home ice for the 1st round, they can't waste this opportunity. Hate to say it, but the Fairbanks series reminds me a lot of this one. Lake State has some good players, the boys need to be ready to get a sweep and advance to the 2nd round...a 1st round exit would be devestating.

No way that can happen, and trust me, our fans are glad!\

We get the winner of Northern and Ohio State.... we wouldn't mind running our record to 7-0 against them this year.

They don't re-seed after the first round games? Because it looks to me if all the home teams win their first round series, BG would be the 7 seed vs. 2 seed Miami(OH).

They do reseed after the first round, highest remaining seed will place at ND, lowest remaining seed will be at Michigan, with the middle two at Miami (second lowest) and at Michigan State (second highest). You are right if all the home teams win this weekend we'll be at Miami

YES, they most certainly DO reseed after ther first round.

Lowest seeded survivor of the 1st round will play at Michigan
2nd lowest survivor will play at Miami
3rd lowest at Michigan State
Highest at Notre Dame

Let's quit worrying about this and focus on beating LSSU

Excited about playing Lake State, you bet. We can should and need to dispatch them quickly.
Geting the Redskins next is not good of all the top, that is worst draw for us.
We have two good goalies, who this year are playing out to be better than average in the CCHA and in the Nation. the Redskins are the number ONE scoring team in the Nation for several reasons. AS much as I like and love this team we can not beat the Redskins unless they beat themselves folks.
ND was our ticket to the Joe or MI, and yea even after this weekend possibly MSU.
but the optimist in my still speaks softly that is the playoffs and it is possible that should we beat Lake, we could well travel to the REDSKINS arena and they could be off their game and we would capitalize on that moment...and then some how that win could push this team up through that glass ceiling to the next level of play that holds us down from elite play, and we could come back the next night and just out play them. that chance is real and it does exist. Its a long shot. but it can happen, it does every season to some team, why not us/
