Minnesota hires former Duke head coach Ted Roof

So Minnesota hired one of the worst head coaches in the history of the ACC, maybe even modern history of the NCAA, to be the defensive coordinator of one of the worst defenses in history. So ... is Brewster trying to find a head coach worse than he is to make somebody else go down with him?

I don't think you can judge a coach based on their results at Duke. No one has succeeded over a period of time at Duke. Spurrier had moderate success, but was smart enough to get out before hefore he started to lose.

Roof wasn't just bad at the W/L column, his teams were for the most part straight up incompetent. A good coach should at least make a competent team, but those teams were so poorly coordinated that they couldn't even score against a bad DI-AA team a few years back (Richardson ... I think). They looked straight up lost on the field every time I saw them play.
