By getting ride of most of lot 6 (the largest residential parking lot) they'll have to add something fairly large, and having it all the way behind the stadium wouldn't go over too well with the students themselves (sadly, most care about how far their car is when they want to go on a meijer run rather than the sports of BG)

Another possibility, not allowing first year students to have cars on campus. A lot of bigger schools do this, and it seems like a good possibility. Or just have X number of passes, and sell them based on seniority.

Anyhow, none of that matters as far as the Stroh center is concerned, should be awesome to come back and see as an Alum
All of these fears about the loss of parking space is unfounded. There is plenty of space on campus to park resident students outside of Lot 6. The university can expand Lot 12 (over by the FMB practice field). There is also a lot out behind Offenhauer that used to be residential.

I seriously doubt that we will not allow freshmen to have cars on campus (after all, there are some students that choose to attend the university solely because we allow freshmen to bring their vehicles).

Even when I lived on campus I wouldn't have cared about lot 6 being gone. Now it is a non issue for me. As far as students complaining about parking, it will be the same as meal plan roll over. A couple classes will remember the good ol days when they didn't have an extra five minutes to walk. Then everyone else will be back to complaining the same amount they do now.
Yeah right girl!

As long as no commuter parking is removed, i don't give a damn. Resident students can get over it. Whining about having to go a little further to get your car over the weekend seems pretty stupid to me. Commuters are the ones who have to find parking and walk from their cars every day, sometimes more than once per day.
