Jags added Troy Williamson and now Jerry Porter.

I thought the same thing. When will the Jags get a clue? They have an abundance of high round selections that have been a bust at wide receiver. Now they add to that with Williamson. He is yet another first round bust. Jerry Porter is a malcontent. Charles should have been on that roster before the playoffs.

Actually could be really good news for Steve Sanders. I think they will cut both Tim Carter and Travis Wilson, so Steve should be fighting with Steptoe for the #5 receiver position.

Don't forget about Cribbs...I could see him taking the 5th spot in a 5 wide formation.

Good point...then you just get down to the preference matter of whether a team actively carries 5 or 6 receivers

Honestly, I wouldn't be putting Cribbs out there on offense. He's not a pure receiver, and there are better receivers out there. Just why Dante Hall was never a stand-out receiver, and then his special teams play never seemed to command much respect after he started playing offense.

Yeah, but how long is Cribbs going to be happy just returning kicks and punts? I mean, even Eric Metcalf played the offense.

From everything I've heard/read Cribbs LOVES his current role. He gets in on offense occasionally, but he's best used on STs. Not just returning kickoffs & punts, but covering them as well.

No offense, but that's not exactly the best example. Eric Metcalf was a joke at running back. Why have a running back that falls down when he's first touched? He may have been amazing on STs, but definitely not in the running game.

He was also a damn good WR when he went to, I think, Atlanta after leaving Cleveland. The idiot version of Bill Belicheck that we had didn't realize that a 175 pound RB shouldn't be running up the middle.

Here's my impression of Bill Belicheck in Cleveland...

"Metcalf up the middle"

"But coach, it's 3rd and 12"

"I don't care...he can do it"
