This might be an odd question but what is on the back side of the scoreboard? The side facing Wooster? Home schedule? Pic of Krebs? Pic of Lee Corso in the Freedia head????
Who cares what Miami's scoreboard looks like. I don't care one bit what Miami does EVER with anything.....Bunch of prissy dorks as far as I'm concerned.....

Falcon Hockey...Re-building the tradition!
Nothing yet, but it is still being constructed. Maybe they will paint the new logo on it?ffejfalcon wrote:This might be an odd question but what is on the back side of the scoreboard? The side facing Wooster? Home schedule? Pic of Krebs? Pic of Lee Corso in the Freedia head????

Miami still sucks
I admit that J- Crew U had the better team last year but that is all history now. Too bad the redskinhawks don't have a prayer in the east this year, I would love to see BG playing you guys down in Oxford in December and exact some revenge.
TUCK FOLEDO....GO FALCONS !!!
One thing that is nice is that the MAC schools continue to upgrade facilities. BG with the new scoreboard; Miami with the scoreboard, cradle of coaches plaza, lights (next season a new East-side stands), Ball State is putting in perm. lights and I think I read that either CMU or EMU is installing new field turf. These types of upgrades need to continue. Good to see.
Congrats on the new scoreboard
Congrats on the new scoreboard

You mean to tell us that you've been SARCASTIC this whole time?redskins4ever wrote: *Anyone knows that this is just a sarcastic response to his message. I wish the Falcons the best of luck, and that Omar is as good as I remember seeing him last year in Mop up time.

The open end is actually the south end, facing Wooster Street.FalconKing wrote:That is where the SAC will be once enough money has been raised. It is a $7 million project, so that may take some time.dstubb wrote:Is there any more talk of improvements to the north (open) end of the stadium?
I thought they were talking about putting the SAC in the north end zone. Am I wrong?

In case you haven't been around the MAC very long, Miami rarely sucks. I believe their last losing season was maybe 8 or 9 years ago. And they have 17 starters back for '04...just like BG. Miami will be battling for the East title again this yr. With road games at Marshall and Akron, it won't be easy for the 'Hawks but NEVER count them out. Too much tradition & success in Oxford. I hate to say it but Miami is #1 all time in MAC history in titles, conference wins and has over 600 career wins. BG is #2 all time in MAC history in titles and conference wins...and trails Miami 18-38-5 in the all time series. BG has 450 career wins in 84 years of football. Miami has been playing football at least 20 years longer. Can some of our MU friends verify what yr MU fielded its first team? MU is the ONLY MAC team with a lead on BG in an all time series. (UCF leads BG 2-1 but I don't consider them a MAC team...never really did and all those games were prior to UCF "joining" the MAC).
I despise Miami but you better believe I respect them.
Their new scoreboard? It's very nice...the brick is a nice touch but I'd rather we spend our $$ on other improvements than what the board sits on.
Like our Sooner friend said, "All that matters is what the numbers say during a game. You could have a guy holding a dry erase board. Not that big of a deal."
I love our new board....each improvement is another step to making the Doyt a more attractive and fan friendly stadium.
GO BG!~

Maybe in Norman, but our last scoreboard wasn't much more than that and you shoulda' heard all of the commotion about such a nonsensical topic.
The new scoreboard won't mean a thing in recruiting. A new SAC would definitely help in the recruitment process.
"The name on the front of the jersey is more important than the name on the back" -Herb Brooks
Oh, I think you'd be sorely mistaken. There will be some amount of recruiting spin that a good recruiter could use about seeing yourself on the big board, etc. Used to be that when you brought recruits in you could put their name up on the board with a picture or whatever, but I think the NCAA outlawed that starting this season.transfer2BGSU wrote:

Either way there will definitely be some recruiting tactic that is used around that scoreboard, I would imagine.

Check it Out!!

vs.

Yes, the main video boards themselves are most likely the exact same model, and the scoreboard -- well, how many ways can you configure a scoreboard?
What you may have missed with Miami's board is that below the two large ads (one apparently static, and one that will apparently rotate) there are two messageboards in addition to the main video board that will be able to post player stats, schedule and score updates, group messages, etc.
In addition, the spaces above the two large advertising areas will also house a new sound system so we might be able to hear something resembling a human voice from time to time.
As for the brick bases, you need to understand that the scoreboard is part of a larger Cradle of Coaches plaza, and the architecture of the board -- in addition to being consistent with Miami's overall architecture -- is consistent with that plaza as well. It's all part of trying to make the stadium a great place to be on game day.
Now, I come over here not to talk smack; instead I agree with those who have decided to approach this as a GOOD thing that schools like Miami and BG are working hard to improve their facilities to make it more attractive to fans and recruits alike.
