Cepis had an absolute rip from the left faceoff dot that beat Inglis blocker side, pandemonium ensued. A great way to send off the seniors in their last home game, and a treat for us who have supported them all season.

Someone get that goal on youtube NOW.

Great game. After we gave up the third goal, we played much much better. The guys really battled. Credit to all the players, Spratt played great, all the seniors, and congrats to coach paulch on his first playoff series win. The image of the whole team jumping on top of each other at center ice celebrating is an image that will stay in my mind for a long time. A perfect ending to my last home hockey game as a student.
Congratulations Icers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say that was one of the best games I've been to in the last two years. The team lit up at the end....they were celebrating like it was going out of style. I also have no voice. Also, Jimmy played AMAZING. Some of those saves were spot on.

Congrats, Icers. I'll be there next weekend to cheer them on! GREAT JOB!!

Amazing game. Gotta hand it to the guys. They battled so hard in the third. Turning point in the game was Spratt's save on Perkovich in the 2nd when we were down 3-1. That goes in and it's game over. Instead we go right down the ice and score to make it 3-2. I forget who I dived on when Cepis scored but what an amazing finish.

Roadtrip next weekend. Who are we playing? Looks like Miami or Michigan State??? Anyone know?

It's Miami(OH). Ferris beat WMU, NMU beat OSU, and the UAF/UNO game has no bearing on our opponent (it was tied in the third last I saw).

GREAT WIN BG!! BEAT MIAMI!!

Not to be a s**t-stirrer, but I can hate Paluch and still root for this team to do well...I'm just saying.

Jimmy's save on that breakaway was ABSOLUTELY the game changing play. If that shot goes in, it's 4-1 LSSU, instead we come back and score shortly after and make it 3-2. Big Kudos to Jimmy on a great night!

Also, way to go to Todd McIlrath...for a kid who didn't see much ice tonight, he came out and battled hard (as he usually does) around the net and put in what may be the biggest goal in Falcon Hockey in a LONG time...

Why Aaron (the ref) spent so much time reviewing the OT goal, even after LSSU left the ice, is beyond me. That man is an idiot. The lesson from that is...Good things happen when you just shoot the darn puck!

Overall, a great feeling for this long-time fan, I wish more people had been there to see it.

I've been wondering why McIlrath hasn't been playing very much. He gives a great effort every time he steps on the ice.

I think Aaron just wanted to see the shot again. It was that beautiful. That, or he messed up and couldn't believe it actually went in. He called a horrible game. All weekend long it seemed like we were playing the LSSU swim team. Dive after dive after dive. I'd really be embarrassed if we had played like that.

What a great comeback victory. That was an unfalconbelievable finish!! Seriously, I spend most the 2nd period and early third listening on 88.1 driving in from Cleveland, and I walk into the arena with about 10 minutes to play. As luck would have it, we score with 3 minutes left, and then go on to win in overtime. Even though I missed the first 2 1/2 periods, that was still probably the best BG hockey game I've ever seen.

What a victory for coach Paluch and his staff. Earlier this afternoon I said I wanted him gone if we had lost. Well, he said and did the right things once we got down 3-1, the team became much more aggressive and played like they had nothing to lose. This game was a textbook example of what happens when you throw out the rules and just start flinging the puck at the net. Hopefully we start doing it more often.

First playoff series win since 2000-01! Woot! Next stop Oxford!

Jimmy played well, but he really didn't make the save on the breakaway. He was deeked out of his shoes, the puck bounced on the LSSU player and he missed the net. I'm not trying to take away from the game Spratt played but he got lucky on the breakaway.

There really was no game changing play IMO. The goal shortly after was huge, but pretty much keep firing at the net and good things happen, and that's what BG did in the 3rd and OT.

Aaron should be fired for how he officiated this weekend. LSSU's 2nd goal was bogus since on a delayed penalty, the BG player touched the puck. Whistle should've blown, but it didn't, LSSU held the puck in and scored on it. All series he was in bad position, blowing loose pucks dead and more importantly losing control of the game. Numerous times his lack of awareness on the ice let a lot of crap happen, which led to some really cheap shots by both teams. He unwillingness to call an LSSU diving penalty also let games get out of hand...one diving call and LSSU stops doing it.

It was amazing in the 3rd when Aaron swallowed his whistle and let the teams play how much better BG played from that. LSSU's diving garbage wasn't being called, so it led to LSSU sitting on the lead and obviously losing. I hope I never see him back for a BG game...we all thought Hall and Shegos were bad...this guy was 10 times worse.

I agree on the officiating. It was horrible, I don't mind consistently horrible but tonight you were left wondering when is it a penalty and when it is not.

As for the LSSU 2nd goal, on the delayed penalty, that was terrible. Obviously I knew the penalty was on us, but I saw us touch it and he didn't blow the whistle, I actually turned to my friend and asked if the penalty was on them. I had actually forgotten about this b/c of the fantastic finish.

53 shots on goal for the game for BG. Unless we topped that earlier this year, it's the most in a game since at least 2001 (51 vs. I believe LSSU).

UNO and UAF are headed for triple overtime right now... thank you Jacob for ending ours a little quicker. (Speaking of SOG... UNO leads in this game 63-49)

I'm actually listening to the UNO/Alaska game. I love how Alaska does their radio broadcasts.
