So am I to gather that this is an improvement over last year? Didn't we only have 4 home games total last year or was it 5? 6 home games every year is the very least we should be getting, too bad we have to wait till next season.
Oh....did I mention having to play Boise St. on the road again is still pissing me off.

I was going to start off by +1ing Falconboy's post about the Boise game (which sucks royally), but this will have to take precedent.PGY Tiercel wrote:Just thought this needed to be pointed out.

Never, ever use the word impossible in regard to MAC scheduling. If there's a ridiculous, illogical scenario, the MAC office will give it serious consideration.
87 was right. Just as soon as I think I've got the MAC schedule figured out, they take away our road game at Temple and send us to Northern Illinois instead. I admit it, I was pretty much blindsided by that. It makes no sense whatsoever. I guess this means the conference has decided that their decision of making only conference games count last year was bulls**t. (By the way, it was!)
On a brighter note, this lowers our strength of schedule for next year. NIU will probably be a much easier team to beat than Temple based on what we know right now. Of course, on the heels of the recent tragedy there and with a new coach, the Huskies could be on a mission, so who knows.

After checking the school websites it looks like Norhtern Illinois drew the short straw this season. They are the only one who hasn't released their schedule today and everyone else has 8 league games scheduled. They must still be trying to line up a 5th non-league game.
A couple other scheduling quirks I noticed: Akron plays Saturday Oct. 18 and doesn't play again until Wednesday Nov. 5, 17 days off. Eastern Michigan plays Sat. Nov. 1 and then doesn't play again until Sat. Nov. 22, 21 days off.

But thanks.

No clue why we are not playing a team in our division. Makes no sense. I hope both teams go undefeated in the league.NY-BG-FAN wrote:No game at Temple is horrible news for me. I was geared up to make three games this season, now it's two, maybe just one. I'm shocked, I had already been looking forward to being in Philly. How the hell can we not play a team in our division? Major bummer.
I am also bummed that Temple is not on the schedule. I am excited to go back to Chicago, but I was really looking forward to a trip to Philly.
^Tell me about it. I live in PA but won't be able to make the PITT game because of work, so Temple was all I had for sure. I feel like my dog ran away. I should be able to make it to BG on vacation time, but if I can't get off the week of a home game I'm SOL on that too. Who knows. Crap. Never in life did I think a quirk in Temple University's football schedule would be so upsetting.

According to Pitt's ticket website "Single-Game tickets will go on sale to the general public on Sunday, August 31, 2008"
I assume that they're just joking for the BG game? Considering the BG game is August 30th. Just something i stumbled across and was wondering if anyone knew when tickets would be available through BG ticket office or anything like that.

Obviously, not playing at Temple is a bummer for the 87 family, although the last game at The Linc was, well, you know.
Freak - really bums me out that you all won't be out here for a game. It figures.
Other than that, the lack of early season home game s**ks. The nasty early season Boise/Wyoming stretch will be brutal. Playing Buffalo late in the season could be interesting if both teams play to their potential. Certainly could be a meaningful game.
Selfishly ... I'm immediately thinking of our road trip. I'll probably wait until we get our football schedule and see if our bye coincides with a BG home game, which would be perfect. Otherwise, we'll have to miss one of Noah's games or come to a November game. Time will tell.
