A pretty good first period and change for the icers, but now their backs are against the wall. Taking penalties each time Miami(OH) took a 5 min. major for checking from behind doesn't help, especially with the power play issues surfacing again.
Giving up the tying goal 10 seconds after taking a 1-0 lead was a shot to the nuts, too.
Time to play like our hair's on fire. GO BG!!!

I just got back to my hotel after the game...and I have a few things I want to touch on about it. I really enjoyed the first period. We came out like we wanted it. The beginning of the second was all right as well but after that I felt like our offense went off and napped for a bit and our defense decided to pass the pucks to the players in red and white instead. That being said, even though he gave up 4 goals I thought Jimmy played a very solid game.
Also, I want to say that I have never experienced the kind of disrespect I did tonight before. I thought it was some sort of unwritten code that you respect other players when they get hurt and you clap when they get up--especially if the player (Tomas) took quite a while to stand up. But instead, next to me in the glorious student section (great placement) I heard Tomas being called every name in the book and he was even booed. I understand that two of their players were just tossed, but that showed so much disrespect. That, and them screaming at the BG fans was a little uncalled for. Sure, it was the playoffs and I understand them not liking the team they were playing against, but there were a few occasions where they were just yelling plain obscenities at the fans even when the play wasn't going.
I was treated horribly the entire time I was in there, by everyone booing when I walked in (I get to the ice arena at 5:15pm before every game and never before have I, nor anyone else in that line before 6pm ever booed someone from an opposing team), by people calling me names, by really rude people in general, and people all the way back to the hotel.
I'm just upset in general because I really thought their fans were nice from our game in January. I guess I was really, really wrong (and yes, I do realize that most of their students are on spring break and some of them were fairweather and I also realize that hockey is a huge sport to Miami...). I just thought they would have more class, being a top school in the country for the game.

Hum i know what I would like to tell you about the redskin fans but i will not cause i know that here it would not bode well.
find a away to deal with it...and get back in there tomorrow! You could if your in the mood...hit a store and cover your self in coon urine and skunk scent and park in their student section!...or just pour the contents over there ......lol since they like to stink the place up.
this Redskin team will likely be one of the best they ever put on the ice, and for us a team everyone from the seasons start overlooked we need to overcome. We can beat this team, we have before and it sounds like they came after us with guns blazing and needed to to beat us. We need to play all 3 periods like the first tonight...the boys can do it. my hat is off to jimmy it sounded like it could have well been his strongest performance of the year!
around the league, MI beat nebrask 10-1, Ferris upset ND ( i said I wanted ND they are in a slump...but we will see on that for sure) and MSU had solid win.

Very classless fans indeed. As for the fans many were southerners and I couldn't understand a word they were saying. The many sounded like Boomhower from King of the Hill. "they done talked like this" Every chant was straight out of UMichigan. I've been to every rink in the CCHA other than Fairbanks. I will say that these people in Oxford don't know the difference between a puck and a bagel...dumb, dumb people.
Dave Ellett is a hero. A Bowling Green Falcon and a Former Jet and Maple Leaf. What more can a Winnipegger ask for.
