We're in a world of hurt, up against an opponent that is bigger, stronger, and faster than us. It's readily apparent that we have to play our best game in years tonight if we want to win. A normal effort will get us blown out of Oxford.
The end is probably near, but even if it is, this was a good season.

I agree 24, the sad thing is that Miami was the team out of the top 4 that we matched up the best against. This was a very good season. No expectations what so ever, and this team won more games this year than any other since I have been here at BG. And the future looks bright! It would be great to see us force a game 3, but I am not getting my hopes up. Im not ready to wish the guys on a good season, because it isnt over yet. Let see if the guys can turn this good season into a great season.
GO FALCONS!!

Thanks for the thoughts, everyone. I'm getting ready to check out of the hotel now and wander around this "nature and shopping" city to waste 7 hours. I guess I'm irritated that I really did give their fans a good review from our January games since I met some people from that game and they were really nice...I soon took back everything nice I said about them.
Oh well. I've checked my tickets for tonight and I am once again (wonderfully enough) on the aisle between the "BG section" and the Miami student section. I also thought it was weird that the "BG section" was said to be sold out but the section itself had about half BG at the bottom with scattered Miami fans IN that section and the entire upperhalf (including directly behind me) was all Miami except for a few scattered BG fans. I just felt bad some BG fans had to sit elsewhere because that part was apparently "sold out". Guess it was...to their fans.
I guess that happens when your team cheers against the opposing fans and not FOR their team.
GO FALCONS! BEAT THE REDHAWKS!

Yeah I don't know where they got the idea that section 16 was the BG section, but hey whatever. The usher people didn't even know that section 16 and later section 2, were not general admission tickets that day. We had to make people move because they were in our seats and then they made everyone move who didn't have a ticket. They were all pissed, but it was kind of funny.
As for the fans. They were douchebags. I don't mind when people yell things at us, and do all that because I find it funny generally because they never have any clever chants. But last night there was one particualr kid who right when they would score the goal would
to our "section". Obviously the
hurt us the fans so much...
Chants=lame
I'm getting excited for tonight! Let's go Falcons!

This is absolutly silly that everyone seems to care sooo much about cheers... ALL CHEERS ARE STOLEN... ALL IDEAS ARE STOLEN... everything Michigan has, they stole from Cornell... so whatever. Why people seem to want to comment on cheering is beyond me. You must really just hate the fact that people are just organized enough to cheer. If BG had a solid cheering section for all their sports but everything was stolen would you care? Hell no, you'd be excited to have that to have it be part of your sporting experience.
As for people yelling and screaming at opposing fans, its the world we live in, I can't apologize enough for people that act that way, it is classless and stupid but at the same time you always have a few rotten apples and those will always seem to stick out more than the good ones.
I didn't see the game, but from what I have read from the MHT board, there seemed to be some diving going on by BG on the two Majors. Im not saying thats what happened, but lets be honest here, Hockey players are the toughest people that I have met so when people lay on the ice and then skate back to the bench and come back into the game, I really don't believe that you are hurt nor were hurt. I think you are trying to draw a penalty because you aren't as skilled at keeping up with your opponent.

I was at the game. I didn't see any diving. The Jones' hit was at my end of the rink - I was in Section 11. Jones' hit was inexcusable. So was the second boarding.....redskins4ever wrote:I didn't see the game, but from what I have read from the MHT board, there seemed to be some diving going on by BG on the two Majors.
In my opinion, of the games I have seen Jones play - he's a goon. So is Ganzek. And as a Miami fan, I like watching them play.... but sometimes they play as if the are wearing scarlett and grey. Its not Miami hockey.
I can honestly say there is no way I would ever cast a Hobey vote for Jones. It's too bad that Nathan Davis has been injured this year..... much classy player and last year was certainly desiring of Hobey votes.
Just my opinion.

Redskins, I gotta ask. Why on earth is the Redhawk logo at Goggin facing the wrong direction? It's drawn up and down toward the goals instead of horizontally between the blue lines. What's up with that?redskins4ever wrote:This is absolutly silly that everyone seems to care sooo much about cheers... ALL CHEERS ARE STOLEN... You shouldn't have to apologize, but understand. I'm drawn to having to apologize as well - although it's illogical.redskins4ever wrote: I can't apologize enough for people that act that way, it is classless and stupid but at the same time you always have a few rotten apples and those will always seem to stick out more than the good ones.
The presence of the bad apples increases - seemingly - as team success increases. That's why the "bad apples" tick me off so much. They seem to take license where none is due.
I've been fortunate to have been treated very civilly by most fans when I visit their arenas, stadia, or other venues.

Maybe because the logo is so big it looks better turned. Also, when you walk down the main hallway between the two rinks, if you look in, the logo would be facing you? I don't know, trying to think of something logical.Redskins, I gotta ask. Why on earth is the Redhawk logo at Goggin facing the wrong direction? Not ALL cheers and ideas are stolen. Some people do come up with things on their own. It just seems like many of them are. Some cheers are universal and can be applied to all schools...something new should be in the mix is all. They might as well have a cowbell. And I don't mind cheers if they are clever...i.e. Notre Dame band. Gotta give them credit, they come up with some good ones on the spot.ALL CHEERS ARE STOLEN... ALL IDEAS ARE STOLEN...

Just got back from lunch and a Miami hick chirped about them winning I told him. Well look at you rafters. I only see 2 banners. Come to Bowling Green you'll at least 15 banners plus a National Championship....so where is yours. The guys clever response was and I quote "BG-STD" That defines a Miami Redhawk fan dumb hick with nothing clever to say. I guess daddy can't buy you a come back eh?

Knowing that MiAudi holds a significant winning percentage advantage against pretty much every other sport, I would curb your enthusiastic "gotcha" on the interweb.PegCityFalcon wrote:Just got back from lunch and a Miami hick chirped about them winning I told him. To be honest I'm not at all surprised by how their student section acted the entire game. After seeing their fans jeer our players during warmups(one kid was even talking trash through the seamless glass) I knew that it would pretty annoying sitting right next to their student section. The majority of the Miami student population is a bunch of rich, stuck up snobs who think that they're better than everyone. I've visited friends there many times and I've known 2 friends who have transferred from MU for that reason alone. They don't call it JCrew U for nothing.
On a better note, I'm really thinking that we can pull out a win tonight. We did outshoot them for most of the game last night. Although the two 5 minute penalties did help. I'm guessing Eno will be in tonight so we'll see if he can step up his game in the biggest game of the season.
Sorry my first post was so negative, I just needed to let off some steam.
