From the conference office...
Cleveland – Initial post season invitations to Mid-American Conference bowl eligible teams have been extended, the MAC office announced today.
The Motor City Bowl, which the MAC has been affiliated with since 1997, will select the MAC Champion to compete in this year’s game to be held Monday, December 27 at 5:30 p.m. (ET) at Detroit’s Ford Field. The MAC Champion will face the UConn Huskies (7-4) of the Big East Conference. UConn is making its first bowl appearance in history.
The GMAC Bowl, which the MAC has been affiliated with since 2001, announced that it has selected Bowling Green (8-3) to face Memphis (8-3) of C-USA in a game to be played Wednesday, December 22 at 8 p.m. (ET) in Mobile, Ala. This makes the Falcons second consecutive bowl game after last year’s Motor City Bowl.
Additional bowl selections are anticipated this week, including the remaining MAC bowl eligible teams [Miami/Toledo 8-3, Northern Illinois 8-3, Marshall 6-5 and Akron 6-5].
The MAC has a third position contracted with the Silicon Valley Football Classic and discussions are ongoing with several bowls, including the Champs SPORTS Bowl, Independence Bowl, Las Vegas Bowl, MPC Computers Bowl and PlainsCapital Ft. Worth Bowl.
Enjoy MOBILE!!!!

Enjoy Mobile BG. Congrats on the bid. This will be a very good game with 2 great offenses as everyone is alluding to. I hope you prevail and represent the MAC well, I know you will.
You will enjoy Mobile a lot. I hope the area has recovered from the hurricane. The people there enjoy the visitors and show them a good time. Go to Boo Radleys, a bar, and fine drinks will be had.
There should be a person checking in on ZiggyZoomba soon. Mobile-Bama is his name. He helped our fans greatly last year on Hawktalk providing insight and tips on where, how and why to go to Mobile. Offered restaurants, hotels and day trip ideas that went a long way in ensuring our stay was a good one. Don't miss the chance to go...it isn't a place that most of us Ohioans see regularly. For instance, I drove last year from the north side of Cincinnati and it took me exactly 11 hours. Not too bad, but I only stayed for 27 hours which I regret. I had no choice though.
Congrats again, and go show them the great depth and talent to be had in the MAC!

You guys landed a great bowl. It was a very good time last year and Mobile really treated us right. Hit the parade, hit the pep rallys, soak it in.
Last year we flew from Dayton to Pensacola on ATA, it was most reasonable. The drive to Mobile is less than an hour and they have superior speed limits. CONGRATS
