Wow, what a game!
Dayton is a tough, tough team. Their post players are very good defenders, but I wasn't too impressed with them on the offensive end. They have a great outside shooting game, but luckily we were able to shut that down for most of the game. I have to say this, though - how big of a prick do you have to be to where a double-breasted suit on the sidelines? I'm looking at you, head coach of Dayton whose name escapes me at the moment...
I am so, so impressed with this Freshman class! The only one of them who hasn't seemed to work her way totally into the system this year is Albert, but she has the physical tools, and I see her being very, VERY good with more playing time. Crystal didn't have much fall for her tonight, but she is a warrior out there. Prochaska? Yeah. I am totally impressed with Pontius, too! In the few games I have seen this year, I am amazed at how well our offense is run with her out there on the floor. I don't know if she'll ever score as much as Kate has throughout her career, but man can she run this offense! Metz - you were sooooo right about her!
It was awesome to see Kate and Whitney get one more chance at a W in Anderson tonight! Those are two warriors, and they will definately be missed whenever this season ends. MSU is going to be a tough opponent in the next round, but this team is capable of playing with anyone. Merchant is going to be ready for us, but I'm sure Curt and Co. will be ready for her as well. I won't be able to make it up to that game, but hopefully we'll get a good crowd up there on Saturday!

Our team will be ready for anything which Sparty throws our way. The coaching staff knows how to get the best out of the players & the players are ready for this challenge. We do pretty well with a short turn-around 'cause everyone has a responsibility & does their job-- head coach through trainer. We played well & shut down some things which Dayton likes to do that's the coaching staff @ work. Some new wrinkles were also added. You can bet that there well be heavy eyelids on the bus tomorrow due to lack of sleep but the plan will be in place & everyone will know her/his role.
The question is WHO'S going to green land? I'm leaving early Fri. due to weather. I missed the IU game due 2 too much white stuff not going to happen again.

I don't know about the roaring, though.

TG is about right with the attendance # , it did roar for the most part although it would roar even more if the darn students would actually get up and start joining the one sideline row that is standing in some serious noise making. Although I believe our attendance should be a lot more especially from the student community , I was taking a gander at UD's facilities and starting researching their attendance up against ours. They play in a rather upscale arena that seats 13k which has been used as NCAA Tournament sites. The UD women have the wackiest attendance figures for a season bar none. I saw attendance figures(taken from box scores) that were as low as 437 one home game vs some no name team and as high as near 12k which happened to be for Indiana. Several home games for UD were were only around 600 or so with a few others around 1k or 2k. Seems we have at least pretty consistent turnout even if it isn't where we'd like it. Its hard for me to even remember the last time the BG women didn't play in front of at least 1,200-1,300 fans let alone under 1k.TG1996 wrote:1650ish.VDub26Falcon wrote:How was the crowd in this game?
