Check out his post game interview on NCAA.com.
Dakich is lobbying for his job and said look at my track record.
"When I was at Bowling Green we won more my first four years since like the guy they named the gym after was playing triple headers in the same day against, I think two women's teams and a CYO team. Then injury and a variety of other things kind of curtailed that and I stayed at the place too long."

Right when I get to hoping he'd do well with Indiana, he makes comments like this, or the "looking into the parking lot", and I'm fine with him losing.VDub26Falcon wrote:After the Coach Anderson bashing I revoke every nice thing I said about Dan Dakich...Eff Him.
That said, I don't think the "he lost this team" deal applies here. As has been alluded to, he never had that IU team from the beginning. I don't envy anyone to be in that position where you have to coach up a group of prima donnas who are still trying to support a coach that dug his own grave (and almost dragged the team down with him) when the season is winding down. And if DD would have tried to discipline them for the whole "KS on the sneakers" deal, he'd have had half his team whining home to their mommies (or their agents).

Just what were those things Dan? The average person reading that has no idea.Tricky_Falcon wrote: Then injury and a variety of other things kind of curtailed that and I stayed at the place too long."
I never liked this guy. At best I accepted him as our coach. He did a decent job 6-10 years ago, but now he is garbage. Now everyone outside of the MAC knows it too.

Uh oh
If DD's BG career paralleled Cut Miller's, he might have something to talk about. Miller took a program that was in the dumper and turned it around in 5 years AND KEPT IT GOING. Dakich took a program that was level, stumbled out of the gate during the adjustment process, and built it on the back of Anthony Stacey and Keith McLeod. Problem was, when he left for WVU, he left the team in such dire straits. I remember the day he got his job back, because my friends called me and said BG has a coach but I'm not going to like it because the new coach is the OLD coach with a new 5 year contract. I told them that we had 5 more years before he's gone because, until Dee Knobauch, BG had NEVER terminated a coach before the end of a contract.
Well Dan, in my opinion, you're a horrible coach and I guess not a very good recruiter. Coach Orr took your same guys and had them playing better than you did. Why? I guess he learned how to get the most out of our barely division ! players and your lack of depth. Sure, they got older and stronger, but they also didn't run around the court or get benched for taking shots. We didn't have 3 guys playing 35+ minutes a game.
I know that neither BG men's or women's teams will ever compete for a national championship and the name Bowling Green isn't going to strike fear in the heart of any basketball team in the Big anything conference, but if a coach can't coach or recruit in Bowling Green, how will he ever be able to coach at Indiana? Oh, wait a minute. He already failed his tryout.

This is a completely disgusting and inaccurate quote. I attempted to defend some of his "parting shots", but this crossed the my line.Tricky_Falcon wrote:Check out his post game interview on NCAA.com.

Enjoy your slump into obscurity Dan. Division III might be a nice fit at this point.

My initial feelings have been proven correct. Eff you Dan Dakich!
