Notre Dame not in a bowl game?

A more wild rumor somebody just floated on one of the ND boards suggests ND might ask out of the bowl game, as the coaching staff isn't feeling much loyalty towards the school, and there is concern of looking bad on TV.

I don't write much into it, but stranger things have happened. Not that it will change where we are going.

"We simply have not made the progress on the field that we need to make," athletic director Kevin White said. "Nor have we been able to create the positive momentum necessary in our efforts to return the Notre Dame program to the elite level of the college football world."

Players are considering not playing in the Insight Bowl on Dec. 28, and White said he didn't know who would coach the game. Notre Dame accepted the invitation to the game on Sunday.

I think I'm going to start sending my resume to every school with a head coaching position open. Just so I can get the rejection letter and joke of being able to have done it better when somebody fails and is fired.

I suspect the Irish will play, some of the coaches will do the normal and honorable thing and get through the game. But it doesn't bode well for the program.

I wonder how they will respond to Urban going in there and kicking their butts around.

I wonder how many Utah recruits became Notre Dame recruits as of this afternoon.
