Thats why I want a rematch with OSU. I'd love good ole fashioned beat down of the Lady Buckeyes to prove the real Ohio basketball power is in women's basketball. Maybe a win like that would wake some students up.The Niz wrote:In the interest of bolstering our already great fan support;
The students still don't turn out well, in my mind they still somehow havn't realized how good the girls are. People still believe the big time schools are osu, msu, mich, and basically every other big ten school. Bring the big ten girls into AA, use them as a whipping post for a season and show the entire region who the real power is. If nothing else it will prove to our students that the big ten isn't a bunch of all powerful titans like they believe they are. Or maybe they are all powerful titans, and we're even bigger and badder
Who would you like to see on the schedule next year?

I know the fun and popular thing to ask for in these threads is the "big schools" and schools in our geographic footprint, but I have somewhat of a different idea here. I wouldn't like to see this matchup because I think it would benefit mid-majors - in fact it would do exactly the opposite - but I would really like to see us play Marist. Yes, they are a smaller school, but I think their program, at least in the short term, is on a similar track as ours. I think it would be fun to see how we match up with them on an annual basis.

Granted, comrade, but my suggestion is still sound, no?The Niz wrote:Bleeding Orange wrote:I know the fun and popular thing to ask for in these threads is the "big schools" and schools in our geographic footprint, but I have somewhat of a different idea here. Just read in The Blade that Hartford and St. Bonaventure will be coming to AA next season. The team will be playing at Temple, a tournament at Dayton and one at UNC-Greensboro, where the younger sister of Sarah Clapper has signed to play.
Coach Miller was quoted as saying he turned down a chance to play at Connecticut because they would not agree to a return game at AA.

BG/Marist would be a hell of a game, IMO. The Red Foxes won my heart when they beat OSU in the NCAA Tourney last year.
Marist has quietly built a very strong program. They finished 32-3 this year.
Check this out...their recent run is eerily similar to BG's:
2004-05 22-7
2005-06 23-7
2006-07 29-6, Sweet 16 appearance
2007-08 32-3.
Would be a great home and home series. Their facility seats about 3,200. About 4,250 students attend Marist.

I'd like to see UCONN on the schedule. Should've taken it, irregardless of not getting them to play at AA.nwofalconfan wrote:Just read in The Blade that Hartford and St. Bonaventure will be coming to AA next season. Seems odd that we would host St. Bonnies back-to-back year, you would think if we were continuing the series like the last one it would start with Bonnies hosting the 1st gamenwofalconfan wrote:Just read in The Blade that Hartford and St. Bonaventure will be coming to AA next season. A factor in this might be the fact the Bonaventure AD is a BG grad, and the guy before him was none other than Ron Zwierlein.BGFalconfromCincy wrote:Seems odd that we would host St. Bonnies back-to-back year, you would think if we were continuing the series like the last one it would start with Bonnies hosting the 1st gamenwofalconfan wrote:Just read in The Blade that Hartford and St. Bonaventure will be coming to AA next season. I thought the same thing there for a second, I still find it weird that they agreed to it that way, I mean we went there 06/07, they came here 07/08, so you would think if we start another home and home that we would go there 08/09 and they would come here 09/10vwfalcon wrote:st. bonny must feel like we do with Boise in football... 2 here before we go there?!?!?

Sure, but if the scheduling relationship is good, that means flexiblity. It may be that Bonaventure has enough home games for this coming season, but wanted to lock down a game for the next season. Meanwhile, maybe we were still plugging a hole for this coming season.BGFalconfromCincy wrote:I thought the same thing there for a second, I still find it weird that they agreed to it that way, I mean we went there 06/07, they came here 07/08, so you would think if we start another home and home that we would go there 08/09 and they would come here 09/10vwfalcon wrote:st. bonny must feel like we do with Boise in football... 2 here before we go there?!?!?
This isn't like the men's almost traditionally nonconference series with Detroit. If that series was flipped around, I would find that a bit odd, since we've been doing it for so long.
