Tracy Roller resigns at BSU

Just across the AP... cited "personal reasons"

I thought the mono story sounded fishy.

The AP story mentioned something about an inner-ear infection on top of the mono. Still seems like an awful small issue to call for a permanent resignation (vs. a leave of absence). But I guess stranger things have happened.

It's not mono. The Muncie paper gives us a pretty good idea, I think...

...unless Roller is not telling the truth this time, either.

I'm gonna take it at face value for now and wish her the best.

I wonder if there will ever be a time when someone feel comfortable to say that they have a specific mental disorder. I get to hear about Nene's private parts, but people are ashamed to have any sort of mental disease.

I think the real question is is people will ever be comfortable hearing about others' mental illnesses. I think that's when we'll start hearing people being more forthcoming about their problems.

I, for one, wouldn't be too quick to admit anything like that if I were someone in the public eye because everybody and their mother would come out and mis-interpret it and I'd have to deal with all that crap, too.

As much as I liked to rip Roller when she was coaching against us, I hope she is able to handle whatever challenge she's facing at the moment and get back to doing what she loves to do. Even if she did annoy me, her record speaks for itself - she's a heck of a coach.

Been battling and hiding manic depression for 20 years. Here is a story from the Muncie newspaper about it and then a letter Roller wrote to the paper that they printed in its entirity. As a BSU fan, I have no problem at all that she lied about this. It was none of my business. But I give her a lot of credit for coming forward and talking so openly about it. Note she said tried suicide on a number of occasions.
