Ben Bojicic must be having an awesome spring to have a firm hold on the starting center job. Good to hear Jeff Fink is doing well, too.
According to Coach B, "Bojicic could be the next [Kory] Lichtensteiger or [Scott] Mruczkowski, he has that kind of ability." Whoa....that is GREAT to hear!
Willie Geter has passed AT on the depth chart at RB.
Can't wait to see some Falcon Football tomorrow!!

Excellent. Geter needs to be on the field with his speed, and this gives Turner the flexibility to continue in his slash role where he is the most effective. I still can't wait to see where Ransom fits in this mix; Minnesota will undoubtably love to see him again.Falconfreak90 wrote: Willie Geter has passed AT on the depth chart at RB.
Brandon basically concedes that we'll be overmatched physically in our non-conference games and doesn't seem to mind. As bothersome as that defeatist mentality is, he claims that it doesn't mater because it won't be a factor in conference.
As I stated before, his success in regularly beating MAC teams has earned him the benefit of the doubt, but he can't ignore the correlation between the stout run defenses at Miami and Temple and the hefty mo-fo's they have manning their respective front 7's.
And my reply to Coach Brandon would be "And how many MAC championships has this philosophy brought us?" The answer would be ZERO. So, we must not be competing in enough of the conference games either. Sorry, but that's the way I see it.

I see it that way too. Hardwick is a good end- not tackle. Move Young back if depth is a problem. Our D got pushed around all year. I am a Brandon supporter (at least - have been) but this philosophy is killing me. First he admits to being overmatched- what a confidence boost. Then he continues to put the same product on the D side of the field. Too small - period! He has had enough time to upgrade the defense to be competitive against Division 1 competition. We have had good size at LB in the past (Burkes etc). If our D stinks - I am switching camps.

Oh it will likely stink if we start Sanderson and Marschall at LB , I gurandamntee it. But please don't change camps or whatever that means. Maybe I'll just have to remind myself not to watch when our defense is playing.
Besides if Brandon Jackson and Eugene Fells show any ability at all to play the position well enough, one of them better be the starters along with Dozier and Haneline once the season starts. If we actually see Calvin Marshcall and Jarrett Sanderson lining up at LB we are doomed to give up a minimum of 250+ rushing yds a game. Bank on it. The only way that wouldn't happen is if our D-line ends up becoming otherwordly and starts dominating like never before.
