Glad we were able to get such a nice turnout. It's a shame that we couldn't get the round in dry, but it was still fun to see everyone again. Went home and hopped in a HOT shower for awhile...then went and grabbed a Myle's pizza. All in all a good day.
Anyone heard from TG yet? Wonder if he and his father made it through the entire 9; if so they're definitely troopers.

I've analyzed your swing, and think you just need to stop using a tee and pretend your first shot is your third. You'd smoke the tee shot every time!footballguy51 wrote:It was fun (when I actually hit the ball), and we should do something like this again in the future.
And yeah, I think another look at the radar showed that it really wasn't going to quit, so dad took his raincheck(s) and ran. Of course, halfway back home, it was dry as a bone and almost even sunny. Damn you Stan Stachak!
Definitely a good time, though. Great idea!

You know, I golfed like that several years ago and it worked okay until I started topping everything. I think part of my problem was that I was trying entirely too hard, and when I just tried to hit the stupid ball it went exactly where I wanted it to go. Oh well, first time out...it happens.
ROLL ALONG!!!

I am a wuss, but it's not the rain, it's the cold. I've played in monsoons before, if it was warm outside. That cold & rain combination was awful though.Warthog wrote:Wuss. I'm fine as well, though the drive back from NWO and pretty much straight to work has me dragging a bit. No ill effects from the golf.hammb wrote:Don't know about anyone else, but the weather officially kicked my butt. I have felt like crap the past 2 days. It's easier to play in 50 and rain in the first weeks of the golf season than later on, it was more annoying than anything.

I haven't had much time on the computer since getting back Saturday night, but I just wanted to add that I, too, had a great time. It sucks that the rain washed out half the round, but it was a good chance to see some of you that I haven't seen in a while, and to meet a few of you (Patrick and Nick, specifically). It was even good to see TG, surprisingly.
I definately vote for this becoming an annual tradition. I definately wouldn't mind leaving the game at halftime, either, to get out on the course a little early. With Brandon here, they are going to use a running clock anyways, so why not get out earlier for those of us that have longer drives?
All in all, good times.

Do you play? Perhaps we could give you a special dispensation to join us for next year's outing.

Haven't in many years but when I did I hit HUGE drives- usually about 300 yards. 150 straight out, then about 150 to the right. Got tired of playing hole number one from fairway number three. Not as tired as the people on fairway number three were but still... I did like Riverby though.Bleeding Orange wrote:HA! Well, if you decide to take up the game again in the next year you'll fit right in with the rest of us. I always have to remind myself that this game is a total b**ch, but that I have loved several total b**ches in my life, so it's alright.h2oville rocket wrote:Haven't in many years but when I did I hit HUGE drives- usually about 300 yards. 150 straight out, then about 150 to the right.
