Prime Chairback Reserved Seats

Post by BGGrad01 »

The season ticket renewal form noted a change to the seating at DLP Stadium this fall - sections 13 and 15 (west side) will have "BleaChair" seating.

Tickets for this section are now $100 each.

I noticed that on my renewal as well. I hope the things are comfortable, because they raised the price about $20 per seat.

Oh well...still a bargain compared to most other schools.

It is nice to see a focus on continually improving things and adding value to season ticket holders and the general gameday experience.

+1. The AD is being proactive and that's great to see.

At the Redskinhawks game last year, the guy I sit with had those type of seats and they were not to bad. Hopefully they don't cram the seats in and try to get a couple extra seatsper row in those sections.

Complaints?

Post by Class of 61 »

I first heard about new seating from some folks who sit about 3-4 rows directly behind us...they weren't too happy as they get 4 seats also (2 for their kids I think).... they were hoping that some kind of "grandfather" clause would be utilized to soften the financial blow a bit.
My gut feeling is that $20 to see a D-1 college game is NOT unreasonable in today's world... Look at the prices of our AWAY games and you'll see what I mean...we've been spoiled at BG for many years, paying not radically more than the admission to HIGH SCHOOL games... (OK, so it might be double, but still not that radical). :D

I think its clear the strategy of low ticket prices did not do much to bring people in. I would have paid extra just to improve the concessions...

I think there are too many fat people in BG to pull that stunt.

For a long time I have wondered why BG hasn't consolidated their season ticket fans between the 30's of the West side, giving them the best most comfortable seats and pushing everyone else to either side.

Im not sure I like those chairs that they are using, I thought those coushioned chairs that they had been pushing for a few years were a better option, and should have just been included.

As for the pricing, we will have to see how elastic or inelastic the falcon fans are to the new pricing.

I don't think that there are a great number of true Falcon fans out there. But of the fans we do have, many are willing to shell out good money for seats. Really I don't think a price increase would have much impact on attendance. Basically, if the team's good, people are going to come out to the Doyt and watch. Unless if its raining, or cold, or snowing, or windy, or cloudy, or some combination of not 75 degrees and sunny. :x

I swear, we have too many fair-weather wusses in our fanbase.

While I don't neccesarily disagree with the notion that our fans our a little candyassed about the weather, it is worth noting that the two biggest crowds in Falcon football history (UT in 1983 and NIU in 2003 ) were on drizzly and somewhat chilly days...
