BG baseball sweeps Ohio three games to none in Athens!!!
BG swept Ohio three games to none by the scores of 18-4, 3-2 and 7-5 down in Athens this weekend!!! This was a HUGE sweep for the Orange & Brown and it really puts the Falcons in decent shape to make the MAC Tournament if they can follow up this weekend's results with solid showings in the remaining series with Buffalo (next weekend at home) and Akron (on the road to close out MAC play). GO BG!!!

BGSU33, I'm concerned about you brother. First you weren't convinced that the football team would end up in a bowl despite the best record in the league and they ended up being the first choice of the 3 bowls the MAC is affiliated with. Now, you've only upgraded the baseball team to being in "decent shape" of making the MAC tournament despite being in 2nd place in the MAC East (up 3 over Akron) with two weeks to go with the tournament entry critiera being the top 3 teams from each division plus the next two with the best record.BGSU33 wrote:This was a HUGE sweep for the Orange & Brown and it really puts the Falcons in decent shape to make the MAC Tournament if they can follow up this weekend's results with solid showings
Prudence and cautiousness is important, but so is enjoying the ride of being a fan while your team is succeeding without obsessing over what's to come in the future. I'd hate for you to miss out on it.

JoeFalcon - You know what’s funny? Some guys who post on here have been joking with me over the past few weeks about you being my “post stalker” and I laughed it off. But now, I’m actually starting to believe them. I guess the fact you know what I thought about a bowl game six months ago reinforces it. But since you brought it up, the reason for my “prudence and cautiousness” is right now there are about ten teams in the running for the eight spots with six games to go. So no, it’s not a lock we’re in at this point, especially since one of those series is on the road against a team right behind us in the standings. Do I think we’ll make the MAC Tournament? Yeah, I do. And I’m definitely enjoying the ride, man. I’ve been to a number of games this year, including some road games. I’ll be at a couple of the Buffalo and Akron games and I’ll be back in Chillicothe for the MAC Tournament if we make it in. If we go to a Regional, I’ll be there too. As for any BG team, I’m always concerned/nervous/cautiously optimistic about our postseason chances. Always have been, always will be. There’s no kidding anyone, I don’t partake in the drinking of the orange Kool-Aid. I’m well aware of it, that’s just me, and I’m not going to change. But why am I am telling you this? You probably already know this about me already anyway.JoeFalcon wrote:BGSU33, I'm concerned about you brother. 1. Things that are manifestly absurd--like questioning whether we'd make a bowl after winning 8 games--tend to stick in my mind. Kind of like your endless flogging of the baseball team after every loss they experience...like your notable game by game "We Suck" posts on the basketball forum...like your recent rant about how you're fed up with all of BG's mens sports because they're not living up to your exacting standards of perfection.BGSU33 wrote:

My so-called "post stalking" is a feeble attempt to counter the type of malarkey I just described, but don't worry. In the future, just assume I automatically disagree with whatever new criticism of BG or its programs you come up with to avoid the necessity of a formal response.
2. I'm glad you finally acknowledge that a second place team up three games with two weeks to go might actually have a better than "decent" chance of making the 8 MAC tournament. Are you going to go out on a limb next and proclaim that Barack Obama has a decent chance of winning the Democratic nomination for President?
3. I find it odd that these hidden, anonymous allies you describe rarely, if ever, seem to lend their support to your arguments publicly. Nevertheless, be assured that any amusement I've provided you and your buddies by countering your criticisms and paranoia is a fraction of the humor your delusional screeds regularly provide me.

Dude, you really, really need to find something more in your life to stimulate yourself than my posts on a message board. Here I thought this was just something recent, it’s incredible the way you can go back. Just how long have you been a fan? But hey, I guess I should say thanks for reading them. I’ll tell you what, to make it easier on you, if you want, I can just send my posts to you directly first. That way, you can make them say exactly what YOU want them to, then you won’t automatically disagree with them, thus saving you time to have to search through other threads on the board to find mine. Maybe everyone can do it, that way you won’t think or see differently than anyone. Saving time like that could give you time to latch onto someone else.JoeFalcon wrote:1. The bottom line is this, it’s childish for us to be doing something like this, on a place like this, and I know that. I’ve seen things like this on here before and can’t believe I’m caught up in one myself. But it’s like I said to you in another post, we can agree to disagree. Can we leave it at that? I agree and disagree with others on here all the time. But I actually enjoy the fact that some people have similar views, and others have such different views on things. I just don’t try and change everyone’s mind and I don’t keep replying to post after post from those who I disagree with. I don’t latch on and wait, it’s stupid and it’s annoying. It’s a forum, we’re all bound to agree and disagree on anything from what color the lanes should be on the new basketball court to the odds on winning our next game. That’s what I like about it. More often than not, even posts I disagree with strongly at the time, sometimes later I see what they were saying later and might feel differently on it later. Most times I don’t even look to see who writes the actual post because I just like reading what has been posted. It wasn’t until some friends made me aware of this that I even noticed your board name and I couldn’t tell you anything about what you’ve put on here until the last couple weeks. No offense, but it’s not important to me and I really don’t care. I’ve probably agreed and disagreed with many things you’ve put up here before but couldn’t tell you one of them.
Look, let’s burry the hatchet on this issue, this is getting old and out of hand. It’s embarrassing both of us. Let’s agree to disagree, and push forward. We both love BG sports, it’s just obvious we think differently most of the time, and that’s cool. Let let bygones be bygones, and just drop it. I love coming to AZZ and this crap if getting old quick. We’re wasting everyone’s time, including ours. I bet if we sat down over a few cold ones, we’d see we have way more in common on that front than it seems we do on here through post. Fair enough?

Great game. I was worried after the EMUs went up 3-0 with 2 BG errors, but once Cantrell got on the rest of the team about the sloppy play, it was all gravy from there. That was a lot of fun to watch.

OK, enough of that bantering!! Great to see BG over .500 at this point in the season.....long time coming! Although making the tournament this year, with 8 teams out of 12, isn't the same as in past years, it's better than being at home. I'm sure they wanted the extra teams to increase the games & thus the revenues generated. Not sure we have the pitching to see us through, but none the less, a good effort by the Falcons this year! Seems like last year was definitely sacrificed for the results we are seeing this year. Go BG !!!!!!!!!!
