What do you have to say for yourselves?
They have the "resources" available to assure that every athlete passes their classes.
Per their website, they employ 13 full-time academic people and six full-time compliance people to keep them in line, not including GA's and administrative staff. BG has 3 and 1, respectively.

Thats not true.

First, what does the BCS have to do with basketball when their is a love affair with the mid majors getting into and making a run in the tourney? Not to mention that there is three hundred and something 1-AA teams in Mens BBALL.

BCS refers to football and there were TWO BCS teams that took a hit. OSU was way above the score that they needed.

The basketball team has shown improvement and they have submitted an approved plan to continue to improve. They are still not on the list for ANY sport, but BGSU is.

That is what I want you folks to explain :P

OSU is able to keep all one hundred and whatever varsity sports that they have under the nations largest athletic department off of the troubled list but BG can't keep all of the 20 or so sports that they have off?

Interesting

But I thought your stance was if its not football or basketball you don't care. If OSU soccer had been on this list and someone attempted to rip OSU for it you would just come on here and says its just soccer you don't care about it.

I care.

Ultimately, BG can and should improve in this area in many sports and I have little doubt this AD can mark that improvement.

Tell me you are joking or do you believe everything that hollywood tells you.

Hollywood would have you believe that big time colleges cheat in sports. Most of the time, in reality, it is small schools that are doing the cheating. It is only heard of, unfortunately, when it happens to a big school. No one cares when (These are hyopthetical scenarios rather than real life events)the QB at Alcorn state is paid $100 a week for a "job" that he never shows up too. No one cares that the star RB from Arkansas State has a new 60 HD tv to play his new PS3 on. Or that the sack machine DE from the University of Dayton is living in a house off campus that is being paid for out of pocket by the coaching staff.

No one cares about stuff like that.

People only care about what Hollwood tries to implant into people's brains. So if you believe that every BCS football team cheats, then you believe that the world will end in 10 years because the polar ice caps will melt and cause the seas to rise and it will flood 95% of the earth and send us into a deep freeze. This, of course would all be due to global warming

That is my stance, however, if this was reversed and OSU soccer was on there and BG was not, you certaintly would go out of your ways to point that out. So I am coming down to your level for a minute so I can point out that BG is on the list and OSU is not, rub it in and then move on.

Task accomplished. My day is complete

Really? Maybe you should ask the folks in Huntington, WV, if nobody cares?

And when it happens at the biggest schools, it should be reported. Look at the disparity in funding, resources, media coverage and backing the non BCS must face. The biggest schools shouldn't have to cheat at all...any time. But they do...they get the best recruits, get enormous coverage, have the best facilities (in most cases) and can pay the most jack for coaching. All the bowl money the BCS conferences hoard every year...and yet they still cheat.

I'm not saying, in any way, that there aren't non BCS schools pulling crap...again, look at Marshall.

I do know this....BG's football program has been honored 9 times in the last 11 years for attaining at least a 70% graduation rate. That ain't too shabby.

Ohio State was caught red handed when Maurice Clarett opened his big fat mouth. No penalties were handed down, because they said he went out of his way to cheat. Cheating goes on at the top level more than many are led to believe. They will cover it up by saying a student is LD (learning disabled) or have some grad assistant write the paper. Look at Florida State they got nailed. While it does go on at smaller schools it not reported on as much, but its covered up better at larger schools.

what do graduation rates have to do with cheating except for the fact that some BG players are getting free passes in the classroom?

What proof do you have that all BCS schools cheat all of the time?
