Yea I know he did not come to BG , save the few weeks last summer. I believe it is safe to say that he made the right decision to go to Kitchener from a play time perspective. Also that they made it to the finals and he played well all season, is good for him as well. I would like to think that if he had been at BG he could have been their just enough more than what we had to elevate us to the Joe.
anyway...even short time no game time falcons seem to be doing well as he may be playing up next year.

Still classless to wait that long and leave the team hanging out to dry.

I'd say that looking back he probably figures that he made the right decision. The team that he played on in Kitchener was one of the best major junior teams in all of Canada. He also got to play 42 games there in the regular season alone, whereas if he had played at BG he probably would've played around 15-20 the whole season while splitting time with Spratt. But then again who's to say he wouldn't have completely taken over the #1 spot for the Falcons. I still think it was pretty low of him to back out that late though.

That and he's a jerk to begin with. There was an article in the Blade the other day about him. But anyway, I'm happy for him that he got the opportunity, but that doesn't mean I like him ;)

Unice did have a great year, but it was a great thing to see his team lose at home to Spokane in the Memorial Cup. Both Steve Mason and Josh Unice played well against the Bulls, but they were no match for the westerners who only had 2 NHL drafted players. That said...the guys a prick and hopefully he has a long career in the AHL.

The NCAA desperately needs to expand the college hockey season.

Hockey already has the longest season in the NCAA (Boston College played 44 games on the way to winning the hockey championship, Kansas played 40 games on the way to winning basketball). There is no way they're going to get anywhere near the 68 games that they play in major junior.

It's harder because it's spread out more geographically.

Maybe something to consider would be a summer league like baseball has?

a longer reg season is what is needed. Heck they could extended the season 10 games and that might be enough.

As far as I'm concerned, college hockey could be year round and the season still wouldn't be long enough! Is it October yet?
