The key to remember though is that in the NFL the contracts are not guaranteed. If he is not good enough he could get cut before his rookie year (entirely unlikely), and then he'd only get the signing bonus portion. If he were to play out the length of his rookie contract he should expect to make somewhere between $1-2 million. Obviously if he gets into the starting lineup and plays well he'll be renegotiating quickly for a more lucrative deal.
