Grant, you'll be able to say you started the trend here.

This is a highly focused, structured, and sensitive effort by the University, and I agree, high praise is in order. This was the third rail of BGSU athletics. This was a razor like line they had to walk, they they did so exceptionally well. They haven't eliminated tradition, we added to it. They did not follow lock-step into the same silly changes we have seen at WMU or Ohio. They created a unique Bowling Green approach and result.
Well said, and I agree.

They did a fantastic job with this process.

Thanks for the offer, but I REALLY like my current avatar! It was "customed" designed as per my request and IT ROCKS, BABY!!!!! :supz: No way would I change it!!! (Thanks BGSU Falconz!!)

I am still trying to keep the CURRENT logo alive and NOTICED!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I do like that you used the original falcon head, but that disc in the background, I can't stand that- I mean it's BLACK... by now you should have figured out that our colors are orange and BROWN!!!.... Is this some sort of FADE to BLACK conspiracy???!!!!!!

I like it

Post by Falcon30 »

This first time I saw the logo was last night at about 1:00am. I was drowsy and I didn't like it.

Now I look at it and I really like it. I wanted to add a few things to the conversation:

I think Miami's logo looks like a comic book drawing of a mythical bird that never would have existed without political correctness. Ours is a stylized Falcon Head that really looks a lot like our 'old' falcon head. My first thought was that theirs had more depth...and then I realized I didn't like that. I think of the logos I like in sports, and none of them are "realistic" (Atlanta Falcons, SD Chargers (powder blue version, of course), Tennessee Titans, etc.)

Also, I have to second all the positive comments about the colors and the importance of brown and orange. I am very happy they used tan and white as accent colors.

All in all, you can tell that the people who designed this were BG people. They respected the tradition, the old logo, the colors, and did NOT go with a 1990's cartoon logo.

I didn't think it was snooty at all, I thought it was freakin' hilarious, given our previous rants on the school color issues!! And BGSU Falconz made the avatar after I asked him how to "do" an avatar ( I had NO clue at all). I described what I wanted and he came up with it. I just flipped over it when I saw it!! For me, HOCKEY ROCKS, BABY!!!!!!! :supz:
