Nick Bailen throws down

Post by DWhite21 »

I just found this video of a fight Nick Bailen got into last year in the USHL. I'd give him the decision even though the other kid got in a few good shots. The kid he is fighting is actually Doug Maclean's son, Clark Maclean. Just incase you aren't a Bluejackets fan, Maclean used to be the GM of the NHL's Bluejackets and coached the Florida Panthers to the finals in '96.

Is it wrong to root for a kid to get beat up because of your hatred of his dad?

Haha I hated Doug Maclean back when he was the GM of the Jackets too. I guess I need somebody to blame for the the fact that my favorite team never came close to the playoffs during Dougy Mac's 5+ year tenure as GM. I actually played against Clark back in bantams. He was always a big trash talker and seemed to be pretty cocky. After a game where we beat his team he shot the puck into our bench after the final buzzer and got suspended. Smart kid, eh?

Bailen and Ruel both had 4 fights a piece last year. Fighting is one thing I wish they had in 2A. It would toughen up these kids for the next level, this is still an issue that makes 2A less of a league than the CHL.
Dave Ellett is a hero. A Bowling Green Falcon and a Former Jet and Maple Leaf. What more can a Winnipegger ask for.
