Falconboy let me try and help you out there. This transfer we are getting first off was born up in canada and comeing to BG would make her closer to her home town than she is right now. Next she is either majoring in nurseing or something of the medical field that would have nurseing in it.

Another PG?

Post by Falconboy »

Just a thought here but if this is Tamika Nurse ends up being the girl we pick up aren't we getting kinda heavy on pg's here? I mean she can't play until next year anyway right? The only thing I can come up with why Miller would accept a transfer from a pg is if she could help us right away with the departure of Achter and us having really young guards to start with next year. I don't know maybe she can play multiple positons. It just seems with Pontius , McGowan , and Slagle we seem to be packed at that position.

My first choice for a transfer would be a center to allow us to slide Breske down into the 4 spot so she can totally dominate every Mac forward in the league, but that's me.

Talent is talent. I don't care what position someone plays. If they can average 10-3-3 while leading a Pac-10 team in minutes, we'll take 'em.

You don't really get choices for transfers. If an opportunity arises, you jump all over it. If you translate Nurse's numbers and experience to the MAC level, she looks like a potential all-MAC performer.

Of course, who knows if she's the transfer or not.

A little searching here http://www.bgsu.edu/cgi-bin/ldapcgi.pl can seemingly verify it.

It can verify that she's registered as a student at BGSU. It doesn't verify that she'll be joining the basketball team.

That's true but she's just come from a major Div.1 basketball program in Oregon and one would rightly assume. I mean for what other reason(besides school) would she be here? I'm definitely not complaining about getting her. I'm assuming she has to sit out a year right? She sounds like a very athletic guard that can score and play pg but also the 2 guard.

Since she apparently is here already and has a bgsu email, how come we haven't heard more "offical" news yet?

You guys ever think that doing a student search to find out if a student-athlete has transferred here is a little...I don't know...creepy?

I don't think it's creepy at all.

Unless BO does it. Then? Definitely creepy.
