Fishing and Volleyball

Jake and I went fishing at Boetler Park in Green today. We fished from 9-11 a.m. and caught... nothing. We are going to play volleyball from 1-3 p.m.

I've been fishing quite a lot lately, and until the last few weeks, I've had little or no luck.

I've come to the conclusion that sometimes it's not so much about what you catch, as it is about getting outside and enjoying being in the sun and having some time to relax.

Of course, I stopped thinking that once I started catching more fish.

Josh,
Tell your dad that he ...and you two guys...are always welcome on my boat.. can't guarantee fish...(no one can), but I DID get about 50 white bass and sheepshead on last trip, just "fooling around" in Sandusky Bay. You guys would have a blast if we ran into a school of fish like that.

Going Sunday with my brother, hopefully after Walleye this time. :)

Fishing "update"

Post by Class of 61 »

Just a follow up to my fishing trip on Sunday with my brother. Got a couple of very nice sized walleyes until the weather began to totally kick us off the lake... went from 2ft waves to 1-3's, to 2-4's inside of about 2 hrs. Saw Rain heading our way and decided that discretion was better part of valor... went out again later with my wife and niece along...and got chased off again.
We'll spend the whole July 4 weekend at the lake and hope that July weather is BETTER than June's... (can't be much worse)

You are a braver man than I am. I wouldn't take my POS boat near Lake Erie during the holiday weekend. Of course I have to deal with no common sense people at the ramps on the penninsula.

Oak, I know what you're saying re: the "nuts" on the July 4 weekend. Unfortunately, my wife's time on the boat this summer will be very limited as her 2nd daughter is due to be married in early Oct. (a BG grad on BG's Homecoming! Darn!!). Between showers, wedding preps etc. she'll have very few chances to get out... and if we get a break from the weather and can go out relatively far away from Sandusky Bay and Island areas where the nuts in their "cigs" go all out, we should be OK... Just wish there was a way to stop the drinking and driving on the water... A bad accident just occurred two weeks ago near our marina...a CIG and a 22' boat collided at 1 am or so, killing at least 2 people. If you were ever on that lake after dark, you know how BLACK it gets... with minimal visibility.

If you need to run commando, maybe we can put MACMAN on the bow of my ride to clear the way.
