Whats the seems to be the problem, this not a good hire? Seems like a good hire to me but then I don't anything about this guy so who knows.

I think it will be a good decision. He did a nice job turning around a DIII school and has experience as a DI assistant. Plus he is an alum, so he knows the university and town, which is an asset to recruiting.

I've only met him a few times, he was a couple of years older than myself at BG. But he always seemed to be a good guy. That doesn't necessarily make him a good coach, but I think until proven otherwise, this looks to be a good hire.

Some on this board have had less than flattering things to say about the guy. I seem to recall those who describe themselves as former player(s) call him a stool pigeon. ... I, of course, have no idea one way or the other. The few times I've spoke with him, he came across fine.

He has a good coaching track record. To that end it is a track record folks...of job hoping this guy wont be here very long, this is a stepping stone for him to a D1 HC job, or something on up the food chain.
this is a good hire, but it is not a long term thing...unless he angling for Pooches job...which is not all that hard to envision considering that SP really needs another good season any hicups with this team this year and think some of yoou will have your wish come true...this is the year to make or break the man...the team is solid, and proven no reason to not do at least as well as last year or better...worse and hes out.
