Ugh. Not happy to see this at all. What in the world is going on these days that has so many kids (allegedly) throwing away free schooling and the chance to play D1 football for such stupid reasons?

I agree we shouldn't mentally convict them just yet, but as you said, to go ahead and issue an arrest warrant takes more than just a hunch, and the fact that they're supposedly roommates makes it seem like more than just speculation.
Either way, even just the accusations floating over the players - and thus, the program - is troubling.

Spot on. You don't issue an arrest warrant on a whim. This will go down as a black mark on the university and the football program. It's a shame.Peregrinner wrote:I agree we shouldn't mentally convict them just yet, but as you said, to go ahead and issue an arrest warrant takes more than just a hunch, and the fact that they're supposedly roommates makes it seem like more than just speculation.

And ultimately the HMFIC in charge as well.1987alum wrote:Spot on. You don't issue an arrest warrant on a whim. This will go down as a black mark on the university and the football program. It is nearly impossible to field a team of 85 D1A caliber athletes nowadays without getting some bad seeds. It's a shame that ours seem to have germinated a lot more often lately, but it happens.

Wow , it seems as thought there is some dark power at work trying to single handily dismantle our entire starting defensive line, I don't usually say this but WTF?!!
If these guys did indeed do this then they must really and I mean really NOT be interested in playing football ever again and must really un-appreciate their schollies to a Div.1 school to play sports. Unbelievable.

Could it get worse?

The S-T. "A second Bowling Green State University football player has been indicted in connection with a June 2 apartment invasion in the 900 block of Klotz Road.
A third suspect — also a BGSU football player — has been identified but has not yet been charged."
I know nothing is confirmed about a thirds BG football player being involved but still.

Man, three players involved in a very serious case ... geez, that's a whole lot to take in and nothing I'd wish on any program, anywhere. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt before wishing none of them to ever return to the team, but there doesn't seem to be much doubt here. I sure hope Brandon is using this as a learning tool for all of the other players.
Urban Meyer actually recently talked about cases like this in his own team. He said that he wishes the recruiting process would allow more time to get to know each kid. Its just so hard to evaluate character with such a limited amount of contacts. So if one seemingly good guy in high school is actually of suspect character and rooms with other guys fitting the same profile, that must create nightmares for coaches.

Coming from Virginia myself, I'm even extra disappointed in seeing Barrow and Hardwick represent the Commonwealth so poorly. Both Barrow and Hardwick are gone from the roster ( http://bgsufalcons.cstv.com/sports/m-fo ... l-mtt.html ) and I’m guessing we could figure out who the third one is by process of elimination. When I heard about one of the three being a football player I just had a bad feeling so where the other two. WHY, WHY, WHY?!
GO BG!!!
I did a quick comparison of the current roster and the one from the spring game and the only person missing besides Barrow and Hardwick is Michael Long, a r-SO LB. He looks like a walk-on as he didn't have a height/weight listed on the spring roster.BGSU33 wrote:I’m guessing we could figure out who the third one is by process of elimination.

Agreed. I checked the roster yesterday morning and they were both still there. It is a shame. If you go on ESPN or Fox to their CFB site, at least half the headlines are about athletes arrested.
