Thank you for this! I'm probably late to the party, but I hadn't seen this before. In fact, I hadn't really seen very many substantive clips from this game.

I can't tell this story enough - in 2003, I was in my dorm (Harshman-Anderson) with J4H "watching" the game on Gametracker. For some reason, none of us retards on my floor had a radio, so we were stuck with GT. I will never forget the confusion that ensued when that game ended. I believe the score was something like 27-24 BG with a minute or two left, and we "watched" as Purdon't marched down the field in the final minutes, fearing the worst, only to see the score "27-26, final" pop up. That was beyond awesome. I would go so far as to say "SUPER-AWESOME!" I have never been more confused and happy in my entire life, and I don't ever expect to be so again. I also learned to never be without a radio, so that was constructive. :P

5 years after-the-fact, this is the 1st time I've seen any footage of this game. Thanks for that. Great stuff. Hopefully there will be new footage like this with our upcoming games against Pittsburgh, Minnesota and Boise St.

I saw the miracle play from the sideline (cheerleading), and the 4th down miracle play seemed to take days! This was such a great game. The Purdue fans were heckling us from kick off all the way through that last 7 BG put on the board. 6X,000 fans ate it that day.

My wife and I were sitting in the endzone were Magner ran out the clock and took a safety to end the game. It was incredible. A stunned silence to say the least. It was especially gratifying since I work with Purdue grads.

I've mentioned it before, I believe, but I was working in the press box at Ohio Stadium. Fortunately the OSU game was over, so I could let out a little cheer when the SID assistant gave a score update, then said BG was trailing with 4th down coming up...then went ahead.

The other workers weren't too impressed that BG was beating the B10, but eff 'em.

I think that night was when I first stumbled upon this little place and my "free time" hasn't been the same since.

Haha that sounds like my quote/avatar thingy that I have up on this site and I've had it up since I joined! I was sitting with my best friend on 26yard-line about halfway up on the pressbox side (west) closest to the (south) endzone. We were right in the middle of all the John Purdue Club members so we got heckled all game, esecially at the end. We actually bought our tickets off of John Purdue club members, but I told them I went to Purdue so they had no idea I was going there with my orange wig and BG shirt on! Actually the fans just joked around with us a lot at first, they thought BG seemed like a "nice school" but they thought BG didn't have a chance. They even clapped when I believe Magner caught the 1st TD to make it 7-7. By the end of the game my friend had to restrain me from getting into a fight with one beligerent fan LOL. But give Josh Harris credit for throwing a very catchable ball under pressure, but WOW that was an insane circus catch by Sharon. Best play I have ever seen in my entire life, best game I have ever attended period. 27-26 BG!!!!

Sweet! Thanks for this great footage! I just wish I could find the rampage of Missouri to throw in my bosses face before we play them again in 2009! I posted the request for Mizzou vs. BGSU but no one can find it.

I kept hearing how Purdue had missed opportunities. BG also had missed opportunities that day. BG had 1st and goal and didn't score a point. Purdue got seven gift points the play after the BS Purdue interception.

I have posted this before but that block by Cole at around 2:20 of the clip was awesome. I remember when that was shown on the big screen, Purdue fans around me groaned. It was an awesome block and showed how versatile Cole was.

Yup you're exactly right about BG having more missed opportunities in that game! The play you're referring to when Cole throws that block is a short pass to James Hawkins who goes 70+ yards only to be tackled at the 1yard line! A couple of stuffed runs later and we end up missing a FG or it got blocked I can't remember. But either way we had 1st and goal on the 1 and didn't score a point. Also you are right J5 had a pass skip off the ground and I believe Shaun Phillips or somebody pulled a video game move and pretended like they intercepted it. One ref said incomplete and another ref overruled it. The very next play is that 44 yard TD pass Orton to John Standeford for Purdue to take the lead 24-20 in the 4th. Also you could say that Purdue got a token 2pts from the safety. Of course you could breakdown and analyize ANY game like this, but being unbiased the score very realistically could have been 34-17 BG by just giving us 1 more yard and reversing a BAD call.
