i want to get atleast a group of about 4-5 people to drive down.... i found a hotel for about $50 per night (total. not per person)... and if mapquest is right in milage, it is roughly 12 hours from BG. it will be a tough sell, but i want to go no matter what.... students get tix for $15 (limit two).
freak... i know i haven't officially met you, but if you wanted to catch a ride, if i go i'll be leaving from brunswick initially. i was one of the three students sitting about two rows ahead of you at the toledo game. i had a orange falcons winter hat on with a black band around it with the old school falcon on the front. i took the hat off in frustration several times in the second half. i was also wearing my "Beat the Herd, Fear the Bird" shirt they gave out at the Marshall game...
i'm getting my friends to "think about it..."

232,
Still working out some details to see if this is possible. I won't know until next Tuesday or so if I still have time left to get off work. If not, I'm stuck watching the game from my house in Akron.
The Freaklings are making this extremely difficult for me to go solo. Sheese, I had to wait til I was 35 before I got to go to a bowl game and they went last yr to the MCB!
Someone please try to tell me I shouldn't feel guilty if I can go but they can't!! I never knew getting a bowl bid would cause so much stuff. That is why I was hoping for the MCB.
Why must it be this hard?

I think you're right, Flip. MRs Freak says the boys are obsessed with BG sports because I am. Josh was sick the day of the Ball State game and couldn't go and I felt guilty beyond belief for having to leave him behind.Flipper wrote:Because you're a good dad and you don't want to upset your kids?
A good part of me feels I should just forget the deal and watch the game from my nest. It wouldn't be the same as being there but in 2 months, will it matter anyway?
Thanks Flip.

Mike,
If you felt guilty about not bringing Josh to the BSU game, how guilty would you feel driving to Mobile without them, getting stuck in a snowstorm on the way home and getting home on Christmas day or later.
Stay in Akron, watch the game on tv, buy a couple of tickets through BG and donate them to the kids in Mobile and don't feel guilty about it not being there.
I wish I could go too, but the date just doesn't work.

so the rest of us who are leaving our kids behind and going to the game are bad parents?
my youngest even has intials BG, but he is not going this year. His first game was Oklahoma @ 6 months, so I think it made up for it.
I do hear ya though Freak. Especially so close to Christmas. I got the same feelings, even though mine are much younger.

Freak:
One man's opinoin - family first. (I am Third - My God, My Family, Myself).
Honestly, if Noah couldn't go, I'd be parked on the couch next to him watching the game.

Hey, thanks a lot for bringing up a dreadful possibility that I hadn't even considered - a snowstorm standing us in Mobile. Official request - do not mention this possibility to Mrs. '87 or we won't be going anywhere!
Great. Something else to worry about.
