Let's see here, we have the Arts Festival and the football opener on the same day, but that's not all.
I would add that the Honors Program's 30th anniversary bash is on the afternoon of September 6th as well. I know that my HSA roundtable colleagues and I are going crazy trying to plan this thing out.
September 5th-7th is going to be one BiG weekend in Bowling Green.

I used to be on a Ducks Unlimited Committee that had a big fish fry for the DU State Committee and ODNR, We had four fryers running for fries rings shrooms fish cheese etc. along with a Jambalaya pot boiling away. So while not exactly a professional I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express!

Dad & I were talking about it yesterday and he keeps hounding me about it. I'm sure we'll be eating well, but I'm not yet sure what that will be exactlyOf course copious amounts of alcohol will be consumed. We will probably start with Joose and move on from there.
I may not remember the actual game...I'm more excited for this game than I have been since '03. A Big 10 team in the Doyt is reason to party.
Also has anyone ever eaten gopher??? I'm thinking a gopher on a spit would be fun for novelty sake, if nothing else...
I have actually tried gopher. There was a guy cooking them rotisserie style at the civil war 'festival/show/whatever' it was. The gopher was actually pretty tasty, very greasy though. They are also surprisingly easy to catch if you have two people.
Yeah right girl!

I am pretty pumped for this game which could be my only game of '08. As of right now it is the only game I am 100% attending but of course I could be easily swayed. . .
I purchased 10 tix yesterday and am planning on breaking up the 12 hour drive starting Thursday night rolling in to BG early Friday afternoon. Since it might be our only tailgate of ought-eight I'm thinking a pretty early start..... 9am? 10am? Definitely no later than noon. Should be a great and fun day!

Well, I can tell you there will be at least one hippie at the AZZ.com tailgate.hammb wrote:You haven't tailgated with usoaklane2 wrote: Nothing haddens the old arteries faster.
I pretty much avoid the Black Swamp festival...too many hippies.
I am driving in about 1-2 PM that day and Mrs. Freak and the Freaklings will be coming later as I will drop them off in Huron and put the pedal down. I have a room across the street so I am not leaving BG until Sunday AM. I am too pumped for this game.
16 days and 17 hours to go...

Well, my plans are completely effed...my new job decided to start me on my true schedule this week...I was told I wouldn't be going to this schedule until late-September, early-October. So now I work Monday's 8:30 to 9, Wednesday 8:30 to 6, Thursday, 8:30 to 9 and Friday and Saturday 8:30 to 6...so, no BG trips for me...I'm really ticked to miss this game and already inquired about it and was told not to make any plans...This sucks so bad and my girlfriend is disappointed too...she was looking forward to seeing my old stomping gorunds...sigh...well, have fun everyone!

We will probably have the B!G-ASS camper over there the night before....makes it easy to "start" early!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

The only reason you don't know is because its never, EVER, shut down before. Believe me, if the Fan Department shuts down you'll know what it WAS right away. And you don't want to find out that way, so just pray it doesn't shut down.threestooges wrote:I hope the fan department doesn't shut down!![]()
