Eric Floyd Memorial Golf Outing

Post by ZiggyZoomba »

As was posted here over the winter, John's brother, Eric, was killed in an auto accident.

The Floyd family is establishing a scholarship in Eric's name and they're holding a golf outing fundraiser for the scholarship fund on September 5.

If you can't participate in the golf outing, they're also accepting donations. Make the check payable to the Eric Floyd Scholarship Fund and send it to:

Here's the rest of the info from the event's Facebook page:

In honor of my brother, Eric Floyd, my family is opening up a scholarship at St. John's Jesuit High School. The scholarship is going to go to a sophomore or junior at St. John's.

On February 14, 2008 my older brother Eric was involved in a car accident that put him in critical condition with massive head trauma at MUO in Toledo, Ohio. After fighting mightily for almost six days he passed away around 8pm on February 19, 2008.

Eric was an unbelievable person that always made sure everyone around him was having a great time. He brought smiles to anyone that came into contact with him. I cannot tell how many people have came up to me since Eric passed and share a great experience they had with him. Half of the time i do not even know who these people are. To me Eric was not just an older brother, he was my best freind and my rock. I looked to him when things were going tough. No matter what my problem was, as small as covering a basketball practice for me to as big as going through a break up, Eric was the one that I turned to and somehow he would always do whatever I needed or would say what I needed to hear. I will be forever grateful for what he was in my life. I really hope everyone will join us to benefit this great event. It should be an awesome time.

Anyone else interested in playing in this? Maybe we can get a team going...
