So he can sit on the bench for 5 years. I hope he looks at who the schools have and goes from there. It would be a shame to throw away a college career on the bench.

I don't think OSU is taking a QB this year...it wouldn't be the first time BC stole a committed QB from us though. Urbie had a commit from a *** QB that dropped us for BC ( his name was Al-Nokali or something IIRC). We had to scramble around to find some ** guy who had interest from us and Buffalo. Nokali didn't do a thing at BC but the kid we signed did alright here..... His name was Omar Jacobs.

And now you know the rest of the story..... (F you Paul Harvey) :-)
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Nice opener for Willougby South/Patrick Nicely vs a very good Columbus Bishop Watterson team. Will South wins 29-23. Nicely throws for two scores (43 and 15 yards) and a two point conversion. They are home with Mayfield then a huge test at Euclid.

Go Falcons!

Well-played, Flip.

We'll see. It's nice that he's saying he's "committed" to BG for now. But I'm sure the coaching staff knows that verbals are just that - verbals. Feb. 4 will tell all.

Oh, in the meantime, Opening Day is near!

I think Nicely is a solid verbal. He indicated a desire to legitimately compete for a starting position, and that's out of the question with Pryor at OSU and highly unlikely at BC if they haven't offered at this point. The game also works both ways in terms of our ability to nab some other school's top prospect away from them at the last minute as well if the need arises.

Another sidebar on that great Omar flashback story: the Kansas State defensive coordinator who called Urban Meyer to recommend him? Phil Bennett, currently in the same position at Pitt.
