BG football player in trouble

Post by bgbill »

Will it ever end?

"A backup wide receiver for the Bowling Green State University football team has been charged with using on a credit card that wasn't his."

http://www.sent-trib.com/index.php?opti ... &Itemid=95

"According to the police report, the video also allegedly shows Adrian Hodges, a freshman backup wide receiver from Jacksonville, Fla., using the card to purchase a video game system.
Hodges was cited for misuse of a credit card, a first degree misdemeanor, and released."

A typical stupid freshman doing stupid (yet no so typical) freshman things. The guy hasn't even set foot on a field yet. If he never plays for us, whoopdy fish.

To be fair (for now), it just says "two other men". But still.... *also shakes head in disbelief*

Misuse of a credit card? Is that the politically correct term? I guess it sounds better than what it actually is. Stealing.

Stealing credit cards is a typical stupid freshman thing to do? I don't think so. Public urination, fighting with a bouncer, underage drinking, those would be typical stupid freshman things. Stealing a credit card is a whole other matter.

I guess Geter wanted to give Bullock a chance to play again??? How stupid. AT is at WR, Ransom is out, and now Geter is out for a game as well. So, does Bullock play, or do they move AT back?

This s**t is starting to get old pretty fast.

Somebody on that coaching staff better get these kids under control or head's should roll. We're quickly becoming the laughing stock of the MAC with this crap.

You have to move AT back. If the charges stick, one game is light.

Yup.
I think it might be time to start pulling coaches off the recruiting trail and onto the "tucking kids in bed at night" trail. As was said, I can shrug off bar fights and peeing on buildings to an extent, but stupid crap like this and the Barrow, et al. fiasco need to be headed off at the pass. They're being dealt with seemingly appropriately after the fact, but someone needs to bang some heads before it comes close to any of this.

You should have to sign a contract to play for BG that says "I won't be dumb."

As sad as it may seem, when you start to "upgrade" your recruiting i.e. theoretically getting better PLAYERS to come to your school, it doesn't mean you've got better PEOPLE coming to your school. After the Barrow fiasco, you'd think that SOME of these kids would've gotten a clue about ass...le behavior. Evidently not!

Perhaps we need to go back to recruiting Ohio harder again..to Hell with out of state kids who you don't know enough about. If this sounds harsh too da n bad!!!

What makes it all the more galling is the fact that every other Division I player in the country, and especially in the MAC, is a perfect saint. We are the only school in the country that has to deal with these issues and should be rightly ashamed.

Further sarcastic self-flagellation will be saved for next month's regularly scheduled act of stupidity.
