NO LETDOWN THIS WEEK!!!
NO LETDOWN THIS WEEK!!!
What a helluva way for us to get out of the gates again this season! What's more, we have a chance again to do something this weekend that we haven't done in about six years. That is, beat back-to-back BCS teams, which we did by beating Missouri (51-28) & Kansas (39-16) which we did in 2002. We're coming off a Top 25 win over Pittsburgh, we're hosting the first ever Big 10 team to ever come to BG in a much-improved Minnesota team (coming off a thrilling win itself), and it's our home opener. We owe it to our guys to pack The Doyt Saturday night in front of an ESPNU audience and help cheer them on to victory. Hopefully, Mother Nature will help us cooperate. This weekend is exactly the kind of scenario we talk about trying to get and always hope for (getting off to a good start, beating a BCS team, hosting a BCS team, getting a home game early in the season, etc). I hope the students come out in full force (and the season ticket holders and walk-ups as well) and hopefully everyone will stay past halftime. But most important, let’s get the win! GO BG!!!

I think coming off this huge win having the game at home will be a great advantage, as unlike last season we didn't have that home crowd to feed on in game 2 after the big week 1 win

This almost makes me wish I delayed graduation by another year (a cool 6.5 by that time) so THIS season may end up my last as a student. Of course as an alum, it's great to be able to brag about my team out here in Washington State, especially since some nameless BG alumni have decided to adopt OSU and hardly mention their alma mater.. Go BG!

OSU plays at noon. I expect a strong showing by the students. I'll be doing my part to get people out this weekend. This is a big deal for our school, and our athletes. Moreover, we can show those fans who are coming from Minnesota that we support our teams and obviously it'll look great on national television.

Rivals.com is giving us little love in the most recent article. Though being on the front page is always good, even if just in passing.

The one good thing I got out of this article is that Wannastash knew our reputation as it preceded us. It came back to bite him, but the fact that we have become a blip on BCS radar is alwas an improvement.. Just as long as they keep willing to schedule a team who is a possible threat..
