I understand your guys confidence about beating the Gophers this weekend. You guys are deservedly the favorites and should win the game. I don't think it's going to be a blow out like many of you believe it will be.
Just as you team has improved so has the Gophers. If the Gophers win, it will show that Brewster has the team on the right track. Go luck, but I think the game will be closer then you expect.

I don't think we have any logical reason to expect a blowout. I think we should win, but a blowout is stretching it. I feel we should cover though. The defense played great against Pitt, but the O was pretty pedestrian and left a lot of plays on the field. If the D shows up again, and the O gets in gear, I actually wouldn't be that surprised if we won by 10-14.

Of course, I also wouldn't be surprised if we lose by that much.

It would be a major mistake to take this Minnesota game and team lightly. I think Brandon and group have a very clear understanding of that. This should be a very good game. I expect it to be close...........

I agree, it should be a very competitive game. A team with very low expectations and nothing to lose versus a hot team with high expectations should result in a nice week 2 matchup! Congrats on the Pitt victory.

I'm not to the point of feeling "confidence" yet, but unbridled enthusiasm definately. If I wanted to walk around with a bloated overconfident ego I'd follow OSU.
I'm confident it's going to be a great game, and I wouldn't sell my prime seats for nothin.

It's funny, there have been many times as a fan I have been confident going into a game.

And then............................

In other words, I have no confidence about any game.

It will be close with the turnout going either way. It all comes down to who can score the most point and/or who can stop the other team from scoring more points.*

Bowling Green by a minimum of 14! More likely:

BG 38
MN 16

As others have said, I'm not expecting a blow out, from either side. We might "blow out" the windows in the press box with stadium noise, but that would be the closest thing. If either team leads by more than 14 points at any point during the game, I'd be surprised. If either team wins by more than 10 I will be very surprised. I don't want to venture a guess as to which team will win though. If BG wins though I do expect to hear the roar of the Doyt clear out here in Idaho!!

I'll stand by my prediction of 44-24. I think it will be close for 3 quarters and then the BG D will come up with a couple turnovers that the offense turns into scores. That doesn't mean it won't be a competitive game. I fully expect MN to come in fired up.

But I also expect BG to be even more fired up with it being our home opener, ESPN U, primetime.

Just my opinion....

I expect the game to be a close affair. I think the Falcons will be on the happy side of a 31-28 score.

Any of you Gophers on here or lurking planning on attending the game?

Would love to have you stop by and say hello.

We all tailgate on the East side (interstate side) of the stadium.

Hey Gopher fans -

I was at the game last year - you guys really are a class act bunch. Much better than those annoying d-bags wearing red in Columbus. If any of you guys want to tailgate, PM me - I'll get more brats/beer.

As for score ... yeah, I expect a close BG win. Both teams are improved though its hard to tell how imporved Minny is. They barely beat NIU, and we have no idea of how good or bad NIU is ... so this game will be a really good check for both teams of how good they are. Having no clue of exactly how improved Minny is, I'll call a BG win by 10.

Minnesota fan here--the feeling is mutual; you guys are first class. Congratulations on your Pitt win and best of luck for a successful season. I look for a closely contested game that could go either way. Wish I could be there.

It should be a close game...after all we are talking about a Big Ten team aren't we? Has it become that bad for the Gophers that some of their fans are saying that they hope it's close against a MAC school. Kudos to our Falcons---keep the foot on the throttle. I hoping for a huge blowout to let out some frustration for some of those "payday" games we have had in the past against BCS conference teams.

 This has nothing to do with anyone wearing any color in Columbus, yet you just HAVE to bring them up! Why? Can't you let it go? Even in a non OSU thread, YOU have to talk about them.

SERIOUSLY dude, you come across as a jealous small timer. Why don't you take a note from your other BG faithful and at least act like you have a brain....

Anyways..

I have changed my mind about BG a little this year after watching the PITT game off and on. I say BG wins 7 games and they beat Minnesota by more than Gopher fans want to think (unfortunately for the big ten another bad loss)

BGSU 40 Minnesota 17.

The Gophers aren't ready yet. Not after the way they played against NIU.

Horrible.
