Can someone explain the logic of Chris Wells still being in the game when you're up 33-0 on Youngstown St. in the 3rd quarter?

I heard so many people at the bars last night talking about this injury and I don't see why he was still in the game. Put in the 2nd stringers at least!

Maybe it has something to do with Mr. Wells being a Heisman candidate and trying to bloat his stats to the maximum. Just a thought.

I don't know why he was in the game but from what I have heard he is fine.

OSU rotated the 1's 2's and 3'2 throughout the game..Beanie hardly played at that point. They wanted him to get his plays in still I guess.

Supposedly he is back next week.

Since I wasn't watching much of the game, I wondered about that or if they were just padding stats. Glad to see him ok though...I wouldn't want to hear that as an excuse if they happen to lose a game this season :D

nah they weren't padding his stats. He only has 111 yards and 1 TD at that point and probably only had 10 carries (not sure what he ended up with but it couldnt have been many. It was early in the 2nd half and I think they just wanted to get him a few more plays.

If they lose a game, that wouldn't be my excuse. OSU is DEEP at RB. Saine and Herron are capable backups. Losses happen. I am not as worried about USC yet as I probably should be though. We will see.

Terell Pryor looked pretty damn good though. Especially when he played with the 1st team o-line. The 2nd and 3rd team o-line didn't do him a lot of favors on the option plays but they were pretty good at pass blocking.

Yea, but my guess is still that he was in for the reps...I heard today that he finished with 13 carries so I wasn't too far off from my guess of 10.

He probably shouldn't have been in but he does need more than 13 carries a game, even if it was against Bowling Green High School.

Anyways, they pretty much said he is fine today. He was in the training room today, working out and doing PT. He apparently told Tress that he feels "great". Sounds like they are definately keeping him out Saturday though.

What - - please say it is not true. How could the Bucks possibly win w/out Beanie against another of the cream-puffs they put on their early season schedule?

Didn't this week's creampuff beat BG pretty soundly last year? BG looked good Saturday and Ohio didn't but I'd be cautious about calling them creampuff unless you want to lump the rest of the MAC in there as well.

Some idiot called into the Jim Rome Show yesterday and tried to play the "What if" game, saying "What if Tressel told Beanie Wells to do it and fake an injury?" Was that you Tek???

no.

I don't listen to Rome. I listen to the mid day show on 1460. I don't even know what stations carry Jim Rome. I have seen Jim Rome on his TV show and I find him annoying.

Whoever said that though is an idiot. Tressel doesn't play those games. No coach plays those games. No one asks their player to fake an injury and then ask them to sit out a game when they are a Heisman candidate.

Just win baby.

The OU game doesn't mean anything when it comes to the USC game. They ran a safe predictable offense (run on 1st and 2nd, pass on 3rd). It is the same thing OSU always does in these types of games. The only difference between OU and YSU is talent level. They can't push OU around as easily (obviously) with such a basic package.

Look a JT's history at OSU.

They looked horrendous against Marshall.
They looked bad and almost got beat by Cincy a few times(ended up winning a national title one of those years if I remember right, hmmm.)
BG played em tight and they went on to smash K-state in the Fiesta Bowl.
They needed a pick 6 against San Diego State to win, yet they went on to win abother Big Ten title.
They were bad against Illinois in '02 and '06 when Illinois was still terrible and STILL went to two national title games and won one of them.

I think you my point that they have the history against the "lesser" opponents and always come out fine.

You can do the fashionable thing and laugh at them now but I promise you one thing. Win or lose on Saturday they are going to leave it all out on the field. It will not be a big blow out like the talking heads on your TV set or on your radio may want to believe. It is going to be nasty, hard hitting, punishing football on both sides. It will be a fun game to watcha At least for people like me who don't think the world is going to end just because my team loses a football game.

May the best team win, whoever it be (Go Bucks!)
