Can this team just get through a week without someone getting themselves in some sort of $hit? Come on guys. I know this is something we've likely all done many times ourselves, but with everything that has gone on with this team in recent months, I don't really find it funny anymore. If I was a player on this team I wouldn't even want to jaywalk or get a parking ticket. This is certainly "better" (using that term very loosely) than some of our recent events, but still. Keep surprising us with headlines like "BG beats Pitt" and not "BG player arrested" for the rest of the season.Warthog wrote:From tonight's Sentinel Tribune:

We're quickly becoming the "bad boys" of the MAC, on the field and off. I'm caught somewhere between being upset about our off field behavior, being incredibly happy about our current performance on the field, and overall wanting to laugh at the stupidity of some of our players. One thing is certain, this year is one I will probably never forget.
I do agree with the others though, this was just a typical stupid freshman doing a stupid freshman thing.

Somebody had to drive the BG Party car on Friday and Saturday nights. Wow I always felt bad for whoever had to drive that. Does anyone know if they still offer that service for students who feel they are in unsafe situations?bgmaggot00 wrote:Well, I for one, never got drunk my freshman year...
Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach, teach PE.
The Sentinel Tribune must have a man on every street. Then again, a lot of this could be down to improved standards of policing and crime detection. In my town, for instance, the boys in blue rack up buckets of cash for the coffee jar with their incredible high tech gear from hapless car owners for minor traffic offences like bad parking while the mob are leaving town with truck loads of stolen goods. The Police are just paralysed. They can't do anything because the thugs keep good tread on their tires and they make sure their vehicle tax is up to date. The newspaper is just full of reports justifying the investment in the fight against crime. Would you believe, thefts around here are down, while public order offences and traffic violations are up?

How many of us have actually been arrested for drunken mis-conduct (or whatever he got charged with)? Or under age consumption? I'm not saying none of us ever drank under-age, but I'm assuming that there is a shockingly low percentage of us who actually got arrested for it.
This isn't stupid typical college student sh!t. You think if it was your kid getting in trouble it would just be a silly freshman mistake? NO!
Quit trying to make excuses for these guys. This is not the kind of program I have grown accustomed to here in BG. I've always been very proud of the discipline our team has had. Now all that hard work is being pissed away and it will take several years to regain that reputation that we once had.
GET YOUR SH!T TOGETHER BOYS!
Yeah right girl!
Oorah!

Drunk and Disorderly conduct is a couple notches below credit card fraud and trying to steal drugs, but it's still not good news. I did similarly stupid crap and got caught, but I would still prefer to not see our players in the news for this. At some point the coaching staff has got to make these kids face some ramifications for the actions of their teammates.
This is another crime that could have easily policed itself. I don't have any illusions that college kids aren't going to drink underage, but where were his friends/teammates to get him home?
Not nearly as upsetting as the last news, but I still wish they'd band together as a group and get this crap under control...it paints everyone on that team in a bad light.

Let me see....I think I got ripped and ralphed quite a few times at BGSU. But I agree with some of the posts regarding the recent off the field troubles. This team is under the microscope right now...and any incidents, no matter how "small", are not good.
