I'm more amazed at how ND fans react when they don't get something, than the fact Urban said no. I hadn't seen this side of this group before. They want something, he is the second coming of Rockne. They don't get it, and his offense is a fad, and he isn't good enough for you.

Not that I think most Irish fans are this dumb, but wow.

I'm sure somebody will now insist Gruden is secretly talking to Notre Dame in the private steam tunnels connecting the campus to the airport.

It isn't that I don't think there aren't a lot of good coaches that can do better at ND, than the guy the fired. But if they really walked into Salt Lake City acting as if they were gods gift to football, they really are out of touch. I think they have gotten so desperate they are getting irrational in their attempts to salvage what they had.

The people running the asylum are supposed to know what the people in it believe is crazy. They aren't supposed to take it to heart and act on it.

I'm enjoying the suicide watch over at Utefans.

They want Brandon. One guys stated that we 'deserved' to have our coach stolen because of our color scheme.

They were the one's who stated that Meyer went to Utah for 'de money'. Now, it's bitten them in the back end. It's a bitter pill to be sure.

It's so delicious. Say it with me, "Schadenfraude." phonetically: "Sha-den-froy-deh." What a beautful word.

One prop: they have Meyer's face on Johnny Depp (pirate). Quite humorous.

Yeah, seriously, screw Utah. They think that they are better than everyone else now because they are going to a BCS bowl. But, now they are realizing that they are still in the same boat as all other mid-majors, in that they are simply stepping stones for coaches to the major programs.

Please excuse me for enjoying every single milisecond of their pain and suffering. I personally wouldn't mind seeing their program go downhill after this one. They could have seen this as an opportunity to be a leader for other mid-majors, but instead their heads got big and they started fancy-ing themselves some sort of Oklahoma of Florida State.

You are getting what you deserve, Utah, and you won't be getting Brandon.

To be honest Utah winning is also its undoing. Not simply that Urban left, but because suddenly, Utah, Boise, Louisville, even BG, Miami, NIU, and others really are lateral moves. Nobody is going from Boise to Utah. However they might go from Boise to Notre Dame (go figure.)

Money has a draw, a BG is still at a disadvantage to Utah in that regard. But being able to get major attention isn't something that requires going to a Utah. Besides, Utah is.....in Utah. Sure, there are lots of things Utah can do to make Urban and his wife happy there, they just don't matter.

Beyond Urban, there are a lot of jobs open right now, and BG has to be mindful of protecting what it has, to whatever degree it can. The problem is that this new thing of highing the next young, up and coming coach, is that it costs a lot more.

I'm still waiting for the "final word" on Urban going to Florida. Not that I expect to hear otherwise, but a lot of places are holding back from calling it.

Florida was still saying nothing would happen this week as of an hour ago.

Could Urban being playing the sides against each other?

Or is Urban waiting until after practice?

Maybe not. New radio reports indicate Urban has requested time to consider the offers.

So far today I've seen things progress like this:

Rumor emerges that Urban was offered the job.

Rumor then emerges that Urban said no to Notre Dame because they would not budge on the Prop 48 issue and other such things.

The Washington Post cites flight records that prove a plane did fly to Salt Lake City from Florida after the Notre Dame staff left.

The first reports quoting Urban's dad come out which detail how he said Florida was the place to go if he wanted to win right off the bat.

The rest of the media start reporting Urban has gotten the offer.

Florida denies making the offer.

Floridas president is quoted as saying he expects word on Urban at any time.

Rumor emerges of a press conference to annouce he is being hired at Florida.

The Florida states they do not expect to know anything this week and that the coaching search continues.

ESPN reports online the deal is sure to go through.

ESPN backs off of the report.

Other online sites start changing their headlines from "He has" to "reports indicate."

WFAN reports Urban has requested time to review offers.

I'm not sure who knows what, if anything.

According to whoever is on ESPN Radio right now, UM has confirmed to Kirk Herbstreit that he is accepting the UF position.

Willingham back to ND?

Its about A LOT OF MONEY!

I think the next coach we have, we should have a clause that gives us a percentage of what the guy makes at future jobs.

I say cut us in at 10% of the gross.
