Ryan's perspective...

Good stuff from Ryan. No need to push the panic button...but we MUST protect the football to win games. When we win the TO battle, we win. When we lost the TO battle, we lose. It doesn't take a UT grad to figure out what we need to do to be successful.

I am very disappointed with our performance in the 4th quarter. Thru 3 quarters, we were right there.

On to Boise State....and a bye week. The thing that really sucks is I won't be able to get to another BG game until Oct 4.

If yesterday wasn't a sellout then why were they turning students away at the gate?

That is a great point, I know a few students who were turned away at the gate, they were not happy

Yeah - there's no need to panic. We s**t the bed in a winnable game. We'll do the same thing at least once in the MAC against a lesser opponent, and it will probably cost us the MAC. I'm not going to panic when the sun rises tomorrow morning, so I don't see any need to panic when we give away a big game. At least what we've seen in the first two games pretty much confirms that we should be a favorite in the East.

Even out the turnovers in the first two games, and we're probably still 1-1 but with the wins reversed. I'll take the Pitt win instead of this one if you give me the option, so not too much to be upset about at this point.

My guess is that the seats that were left were not in the student's section. Probably could have escorted the idiot students out and let these others in, but oh well.

Non conference game that does not mean squat in our overall goal of winning the MAC and going to another bowl game.

I had no idea about that and personally, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I don't care if people are cramming in the isles, pack the place! How many of those students who got turned away are going to want to come back? We need to keep the student support because games like yesterday don't bring the community out...

Good point(s), however..................how big was this game for both recruiting and future attendance considerations? We had the Doyt "PACKED", ESPN in the house, a Big Eleven opponent on the field and weather conditions that were a gift from above!! If we had played better, who knows the impact it would have had on a future Falcon and also butts in the seats? I think it did mean a little more than"squat". :(

I think a victory on Saturday would've ensured a full student section the rest of the year, at least on good/fair weather days. We'll never have a great turnout when it's raining or brutally cold, but I just fear that a whole bunch of students, especially the freshmen, won't be back on October 4. The townies are a bit of a different scenario, especially because the next game is homecoming, I think they'll turn out well. I think it's toward the end of the year in the cold weather that the townies don't bring it like the students do.

Oh, and a victory could, could have put us on the fringes of the top 25. Think about that one for a minute. You don't think that would bring us a lot of attention and notoriety?
