Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers.
We are flat out LOADED on offense this year. We go 4 deep at RB without a drop off and with Ian that is saying something. This is the most deep we have EVER been at WR and our QB has the #2 passer rating in the country.
At that to being home on the blue where we have scored an average of EXACTLY 49 points per game since 2002 (including 53 we dropped on Oregon State when they had one of the top D's in the PAC 10) and it would be an impressive feet to hold us to 17.
Now, our defense is what I worry about. If BG does win it would be something like 35-31 or even a 49-45 type of score. FWIW.
And I must say I'm really bummed you guys laid an egg against the Big Ten last week. I pegged you to win that one. After we beat you I hope you win out!

Sorry, I meant to reply to this guy but didn't scroll up far enough. Beef - 137 was pointing out the similarities to our game against Pittsburgh a couple weeks ago, which we won 27-17. If we hold another high powered offense to 17 points, I think we will all be as surprised as you. I will also be surprised and disappointed if our defense allows 40+ points no matter how many times we fumble inside our own 25 yard line.Beef Zerkie wrote:Sorry, I meant to reply to this guy but didn't scroll up far enough. Really it took 4 turnovers to take us out of the Minnesota game, so assuming we don't have that happen again, I like our chances against anybody on our schedule.
That being said, Boise is UNBEATABLE at home. Period. They have the biggest home field advantage in college football. So I'm going to go with the Broncos here.

You aren't joking when you say the biggest home field advantage in all of college football. I want to say Boise St. is like 75-1
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

I agree, GhostTown56. I think the overwhelming majority of us know how difficult it is to win at Boise, not so much that BG can't hang with the Broncos. You guys are 59 and freakin' 2 in the last 61 games on the smuf turf. That is nealry a 97% winning percentage...and I know of the "big boys" that have ventured in there only to get whipped. I have our game on tape from 2005 and it wasn't pretty.GhostTown56 wrote:Wow, you guys are giving the Broncos WAY to much credit in some cases. This should be a competitive game.
IF BG can protect the football, we can win. I'm more confident at this point than I was a few days ago but the fact remains this is our biggest challenge of the year, IMO. I have a ton of respect for BSU and the program you've built out there. I tell my sons all the time how I'd like to see BGSU become the Boise State of the Midwest.
At any rate, I know the Falcons can win this game. But I also know the odds are definitely stacked against us. I've been told I wear orange glasses too much so I'm just trying to be objective.
Here's to a great game...and two teams having great seasons. As non BCS programs, we have a lot in common.
GO FALCONS!! BUST THE BRONCOS!!!

I'm rarely accused of wearing orange glasses and I do think this is a game BG can win and be competitive in, IF they show up. Last time out there we made major mistakes early and it steamrolled from there. We need to show up ready to play right out of the gates.Falconfreak90 wrote: At any rate, I know the Falcons can win this game. But I also know the odds are definitely stacked against us. Even if we play our best it will be tough because it's such a hard place to play, but we can do it. I don't think this Boise team is as good as they have been the past couple years, but they're still pretty damn good.
It should be a good matchup between two high quality non-BCS programs, IMO. If we minimize the mistakes early and build some confidence I think it can be close. If we get behind early with their fans I can see us getting steamrolled again as well. I actually like our chances in this game a little better after having lost so bad last week...that has to be a motivating factor for the team.

Agreed hammb. We can't beat ourselves like the MN game cuz it will be hard enough to beat BSU. They are a very good team.hammb wrote:I'm rarely accused of wearing orange glasses and I do think this is a game BG can win and be competitive in, IF they show up. Dont confuse not as good with not as talented. Boise is very very young, one of the three youngest teams in the country so there is not a lot of national hype on the broncos this year. We are easily more talented this year than the year we won the fiesta bowl.Especially at the skill positions. Not being biased i dont think there is a team on boises schedule that matches the skill talent we have and that includes oregon whom we play next week. games are won and lost in the trenches so we will see how the lines materialize. I think Boise is a top 15 team to start the season next year. The best way to offset young talent is expierence which is what you have.hammb wrote:I'm rarely accused of wearing orange glasses and I do think this is a game BG can win and be competitive in, IF they show up.
