I didn't notice it the first time I looked at the release, but it appears we might be adding another game or two to the non-conference schedule according to this sentence listed in the release: There is still the possibility that the Falcons will add a game or two to the existing non-conference schedule.
It would be nice if we could somehow get a home game on the front end of the schedule as right now, our first five games are either on the road or at a neutral site.
Interesting note from the release on the 08-09 schedule

Thank you, Tony Reali. That would be great if the team could add a couple games at the House that Roars...I want to go to some games!!!BGSU33 wrote:I didn't notice it the first time I looked at the release, but it appears we might be adding another game or two to the non-conference schedule according to this sentence listed in the release: There is still the possibility that the Falcons will add a game or two to the existing non-conference schedule.

Temple last year is about as big as it's gona get. I asked Cristopher when Xavier or Dayton was going to come to BG. He said never, they wont play a home and away.Falconboy wrote:It would be nice to get some home games that are not named Tiffin, Urbana, Sisters of the Poor ,exct.
I would take a 2 for 1 or even 3 for 1. Both those schools would fill Anderson up to the rafters. Instead of getting 1,000 for Arkansas St. every year how about 4,500 for Dayton one year and Xavier the next?
I wonder with Dayton and Xavier is it more about the money or the fact that they could get beat? What about an alternative site. I am not that familiar with the northern part of Ohio but there has to be an arena that both schools can play at. Here in Cincy Xavier and BG can play at the US Bank Arena formerly known as the Riverfront Coliseum.
I don't see any way that Dayton or Xavier go to a neutral court. Dayton did it for Louisville in Cincy one year. I believe Xavier played K State at US Bank twice. The only way that might work is if BG played @ UD or @ X and the return game was at the new arena in downtown Toledo.renorvis wrote:I wonder with Dayton and Xavier is it more about the money or the fact that they could get beat? This year Dayton plays @ Akron and @ Toledo. I believe Toledo and Akron are giving a large portion of ticket sales to Dayton.
You have to give these schools an incentive to come up here, otherwise they will just add another cupcake to play at home and draw 12,500.
H2O might be able to give some info on the Dayton Toledo game and how they got UD to go up there.

Only way I can see either coming up here is if its for the first regular season game at the new place
No way we would play X at US Bank, attendence for the UC/Miami games their struggled after the first couple years, no way BG/X does any better. Besides if BG goes to Cincy to play X, I want the game at Cintas. I may be a UC fan when it comes to the Cincy teams, but Cintas is a great place to watch a game, way better then US Bank IMO

Its my understanding that they have been begging to come for years but we pretty much forced them to their knees to beg when they got a look at the new arena. We get the gate, all concessions and they're paying 6 figures to come.Falcon137 wrote:renorvis wrote:H2O might be able to give some info on the Dayton Toledo game and how they got UD to go up there.
Seriously, I think they've been to UT 3 previous times-we played there last year for the first game of a home and away-its just a lot easier to schedule good teams in a 8,000 seat arena. I think Anderson, as beloved as it is, holds BG back in scheduling. Even filled it is too small- the new arena will help and you'll draw some bigger name teams but not Big televen- You might pick up the odd Dayton game at home then. It would be good to see BG rocking again- I can still recall sitting right in the middle of the BG student section when I was in school and watching Toledo literally steal a game at the end-the place was roaring and there wasn't a seat or staanding place to be found. A return to that atmosphere would be great.
